I hate it when trailers spoil the plot. There's probably a real cool connection between these characters.

You don't think the Elsa trope is still a "this woman has be defeated because she made the wrong emotional choices" kinda deal? I feel like the traditional "ice queen" archetype is all about that. Something to be defrosted. Seems like another male fantasy sometimes.

For some reason you can be Sigourney Weaver. That's what I've seen.

And yes, usually villain or anti-hero. Because woman concealing emotions = BAD.

Great stuff. Is that a half-dragon fox-person?

I also wonder about the trope of women characters who use "Ice Magic" or "Death Magic". Their power all-too-often comes from REPRESSION of emotions rather than excessive emotions. The pendulum swings too far the other way, and it's just a new brand of infantilizing misogyny.

Like an illustration that would appear on the cover of a board game box? Neat.

Ooh, that's good to hear. I was worried that Trench Crusade was gonna be a festering fash hole, since it gave me so much 40K nostalgia.

I long to know the story unfolding in this picture. Or is it a historical/literary reference that I've missed?

The movie that made an entire generation of D&D players use repeating crossbows and elves who make disco "pew pew" sounds when they shoot arrows.
