With the nice(r) weather, I finally managed to bring in all the plastic bins off my balcony. * My crafting tools bin is mostly a write-off; it has 5cm of ice at the bottom. But my utility knives, etc. may be okay. * My DM kit had one book that tanked for the rest of the bin. No other losses.

I accidentally booted into Windows for the first time in months, and dear $deity, after using Cinnamon with a muted green theme (Cinnamox-Willow-Grove) for this long the Windows UI is INCREDIBLY hard on the eyes. I guess I'll need to get used to it on my gaming PC, but... I don't have to LIKE it.

I love backup day....

Managed to add ~300 words to my planning document today despite repeated interruptions. Also, realizing I have a cast made up almost entirely of Manic Pixie Dream Girls. (Including the male protagonist. ESPECIALLY the male protagonist.)

So my laptop cooling pad lasted almost exactly three months before the plastic snapped. Replacing it with a bamboo one, at twice the cost but significantly higher chances of survival.

Looks like I'm going to have to replace my mom's PC in the near future. Considering that it was originally MY PC, assembled in 2012-ish... I can't complain too much. But I will anyway, since the only problem with it is the PSU fan -- but the price to replace the PSU is as much as a new mini-PC.

705 words of outline (mostly worldbuilding, not plot) accomplished so far today. Sadly, this is my last day of having the apartment to myself, so I suspect I won't be able to keep this pace up, but it's something.

At some point, I need to get my new gaming PC assembled; I have games I love that I haven't been able to play in almost three years (when my old PC's graphics card died, and I screwed up the mobo while removing it.) But I've also gotten so used to not having one that it's hard to get motivated.

Dear Minecraft Modders: Please, for the love of $deity, test your UIs - especially your text rendering - on low resolutions with 1x GUI Scale. At half-resolution my laptop can get decent FPS even running shaders... and then I'll open a map, or guide book, or machine, and it'll be 100% illegible.

Since it's going around, I might as well get my own introduction done. * US/Canadian Dual Citizen, now in Ontario * Avoidant Personality Disorder (diagnosed 2011) * Legally Disabled * Retro Game Hoarder (not a collector; I buy games to play, not to sit on shelves.) * Likely to be silent a lot.
