I missed this year end review of John Martyn's 1973 album Solid Air. Pitchfork gave it a 10. I can't guarantee it'll be a 10 on your own scale, but I can assure you that this is worth listening to. And the review is a great read in and of itself. So give both a try. pitchfork.com/reviews/albu...

From Todos Los Santos Lake. In the 1st photo you can see the Southern Cross rising above the Andes with the incredible Magellanic Cloud streaking across the darkness. And in the second, stars above the Osorno Volcano. Last time we were here it was cloudy; this is a real blessing #astrophotography

It’s a dirty job but someone has to do it: tasted 10 sample bottles last night. When we have so many bottles to uncork, we like to invite our most frequent clients to try them with us. Wine of night was a lovely red blend from a small project called Viñateros de Raíz with all of 1.2 ha. #wine

Who’s up to taking in a performance of Vivaldi’s 4 Seasons in a 14th Century gothic chapel? If you are, & you find yourself in #Mexico City I can’t recommend it enough. There are performances now & thru March at the “capilla gótica” that’s part of the Instituto Cultural Helénico on Revolución St.

#Mexico #Wine These photos don’t do it justice and that’s on me, but wine geeks visiting Mex City should make their way to Bar SiMon on Zacatecas St in Roma. Winemaker & proprietor César Margain only stocks bottles from small scale producers. Very reasonable. I had a 6 wine flight for US 20.

If you visit México City *do* visit the new (opened in SEP’24) Museo Vivo de Muralismo for the incredible murals in what used to be the home of the Secretary of Public Education. Most of the them are by Diego Rivera & his assistants but Siqueiros’ mural, which took him decades, is amazing. #mexico

Edge of Tomorrow is one of those movies that I can watch over and over again and I never get bored. It's so much fun and effective. I think that this article is spot on in explaining why it works so well. If you haven't seen it, *do* give it a chance. Now I'm going to have to go watch it again...
