I don't understand. How are sanctions related to draft age?

He needs to be asked point-blank why he's doing Putin's work for him.

That is a very illegal. The federal government is not allowed to use active military against civilians domestically.

Not to mention that you don't lock a governor up for doing a bad job, even if he did. Did that one just fly under the radar? They're talking about making up reasons to arrest sitting officials they don't like. That's totalitarian tactics.

It's hard to tell whether this represents a consensus, from one phone call.

They don't believe they cannot defeat Ukraine, so they likely don't believe they are incapable of attacking Europe. What they think of their own capabilities matters more than what Orban says.

Lacks context. Is that LA? Who is the man? Are the three in uniforms with ICE?

Narcissistic projection.

None of this is a reaction. They were going to do it all anyway. They already invaded Ukraine and they have been bombing them daily for years. Calling it a response is a Russian information operation.

We've got another member for the "right-wingnuts for Putin" fan club.

I hope so. If so, the mechanism would be interesting.

This demonstrates Trump's lack of conscience. He knows very well the distinction between the behaviors of Russia and Ukraine.

The attacks were "terrorist" but they attacked "military" targets? Hmm. Almost like Russians know very well it wasn't terrorism.

Except one of the children is a merciless bully and the other is just trying to defend himself.

It has become an intelligence war. That's encouraging because you Ukrainian intelligence is good.

Ukraine needs to cut off Russia's Black Sea access. It wouldn't be quite as difficult as it might sound, though it wouldn't be easy.

Time to blow up some drone factories.
comment in response to

Russia can't keep their trains on the tracks, and that is somehow Ukraine's fault.
comment in response to

So Putin knows that Russia is targeting civilians, and believes that Russia is losing the war. So he's been bluffing.
comment in response to

They don't have the air support necessary for an offensive like that now.
comment in response to

Putin must have told Trump to have someone say that. The strategic bomber fleet was part of the threat Russia represents. It was a delivery system for nukes, among other things. Now it's much less of a threat, so Russia is less likely to escalate. Duh.

Don't pay him then. He's not doing his job. Fire him.

I hate Musk, but he's right about this.

Yeah, I've seen that before. She's making a true statement, but the fact that she's saying it tells you he's not going to do it. Which we already knew, since he works for Putin.

Check where? Why would a reporter not know if it was blown up or not? It's either in pieces, or it's not. Blown up is not the same as damaged.
comment in response to

Sounds like somebody miscalculated how much explosive to use.
comment in response to

Blows up, damaged, or attacked? I'm getting tired of these vague articles. It sounds to me like a failed attempt. Tell us what happened.

Ambiguous headline and story. 12, 13, or 41 + 12, or 41 + 13? Why be unclear?

Is it 2 weeks yet?

I would call that bribery or blackmail.

Playing whack-a-mole.

Of course they weren't. They would have tipped Putin off.

Russia does security theater too.

Why would he be? He's with the enemy.

They also describe different kinds of drones.

Both claims could be true since they cover different time periods. But the response seems deceptive.

They want time to scrape together their aviation, or what's left of it. That means they're a vulnerable, especially right now. Time to strike.

Exploded, or just collapsed because of deficient maintenance?

When you divert all the funds you would have used to repair bridges and infrastructure to a war of aggression, your population suffers.

That is what's called a self-fulfilling prophecy. If it ends that way, it will be because Germany and others decide it will end that way.
comment in response to

They should have done that last year.
comment in response to

Notice that Trump did nothing. All he did was post on his social media.

I'm fully in support of Ukraine and want them to be provided with help. But articles like this are not good. This is a spurious comparison. The two numbers don't have anything to do with one another.

There are no ceasefire talks with Russia.
comment in response to

Now it's "possible"? I thought it was going to happen. Merz is changing what he says.
comment in response to

That would be a reason why he should pursue sanctions. But he's in Putin's pocket.
comment in response to

Lots of things in Russia are suddenly burning. Especially manufacturing plants.
comment in response to

Why talk? They didn't do what they said they were going to do last time. And even what they said they were going to do wasn't anything meaningful.

"I'm thinking about the possibility in the future of deciding that we might do something after a period of time, but I'm going to wait before thinking. It could happen."
