Agreed but also I think something different happens which is that people spent so much time with the sludge that they got acclimated to it as reality and also don’t recognize that the people that are on here now are a not insignificant portion of people who dropped out of Twitter several years ago.

On some level there’s just a sunk cost to Twitter but I do think there’s a baseline frequency that makes you insane that people have grown accustomed to on there, it’s familiar to them and they don’t want to admit that.
