A senate security pin is not some magic talisman. It’s just a lapel pin that lets Capitol Police waive senators past cumbersome security checkpoints. Outside of Capitol Hill, it’s just a pretty pin.

The problem is that private companies like corecivic that provide private prisons and detention facilities don't see that distinction. The Supreme Court is currently poised to potentially provide immunity to private prison companies from forced labor claims.
