Meanwhile my previous trip to Dollar General, I discovered tupperwear, a spatula, and a plate holder, were -all in three different corners of the store- And not the fourth corner where I originally went looking for them because that's where they were two months ago fucking labyrinth of woe

Let me just tell you what shopping at a Daiso is like Imagine a dollar store but you can find what you're looking for, despite half of the signs being in a foreign language, because the store is organized in an intuitive way, like 'having all the kitchen aisles together'.

Capcom collectors fighting for their life on one disc while Sega fans had, just, a whole-ass binder filled with 1000 prototypes handed to them. 😭

What is it that we're doing here? In a time when people's hobby cash is at an all-time low, and the industry already does a fine enough job of shooting itself in the foot chasing trends‐ why do this?

I want to be excited for Z-A, I really do- it has goddamn Chikorita as a starter. And I just don't care about graphics detail in a Pokémon game- I grew up with Red for fuck's sake, I'm not there to stare at a tree or a puddle. But they're genuinely making it hard to be excited.

I'm a fan of the series, obviously- I wouldn't have a Simisear as my icon here if I wasn't- but dear God, I'm starting to see why Go has me doing single one-by-one trades in a game where you're managing -thosands of these little bastards-.

Game companies -need- their peers to keep them polishing their product. I'm watching the extended look at Z-A, and- wow! Having your mons manually dodge attacks! Holy -shit-, did GF barely get back to that as an idea since Rumble? Is that where they are on the 'new shit to add' list? Sidestepping??

At its core, patent locking gameplay mechanics- do you want a stagnating genre? That's how you get a stagnating genre. Like, imagine if Nintendo went after Symphony of the Night over the idea of 'gain items and come back to old zone to see new areas'. Vania is half of Metroidvania!!

The progression is not Pokémon. The gameplay loop is not Pokémon. The resource management is not Pokémon. The bosses sure as hell aren't Pokémon, I'll tell you that- I haven't had a Pokémon boss kick my ass in this way since Blue, and he ambushed my ass walking around with The B Team.

BOTH OF YOU TILT YOUR GAZE TO MATOYA AT THE SAME TIME 😂

Fun fact, his shenanigans across the series imply that, unlike Cids, he IS -the- Gilgamesh that appears in every game. Implying Greg did have an FFX appearance!

Me: "aw fuck I thought this was the armor guy" actual NPC dialog: "IF YOU AREN'T GONNA BUY ANYTHING, PLEASE LEAVE!"

Always got a kick out of that in Legend of the Mystical Ninja, because you'll just be there looking for the damn item shop, but you keep running into sushi restaurants that there are multiple of for some reason, and they get -pissed- at you for not buying anything.

Remember when they patched -all- the dialogue with a new translation and somehow they just made it worse like, it just went over their heads
