If a “raise” is less than the amount of inflation over a specific period of time, is it really a raise or just less of a pay cut?

Reason # 1,000,000 why a gift with strings attached is not a gift at all, it's really a purchase, and should not be given preferential tax treatment. Would go a long way towards cleaning that stuff up.

State flagship university didn’t let women in until 1972. Been dying to go full on private since the 90s (Law and Darden ARE private) but Richmond gives them just enough funding to trade slots for delegates kids in exchange for legislative influence (CAS ‘03, Cville native)

I have one (really a '99 Mazda B4000, which is a Ranger with Mazda logos) with the "extended cab" featuring jumpseats and it is truly awesome. Even has a manual transmission. Only "smart" feature is a bluetooth adapter I plug into the cigarette lighter to play music through the radio.

At the very least have someone start drafting the indictments so we don’t have another Merrick Garland debacle. Arrest these dudes the second they’re out of power and fine tune the pleadings later

I miss listening to prime Sonny, Sam and Frank with the TV on mute (only exception was when Madden/Summerall were doing the TV)

But it’s happened before! In the 1991 NFC title game! Are you saying Wayne Fontes doesn’t resonate with the youth of today? Now if you’ll excuse me I have a stack of social security forms to fill out

Be grateful, the cowards over here Woodford (and Lex) are doing an NTI day, which means about 10 minutes of computer work. NTI is a scam

They “were” the best team until their top 40 or so defensive players got hurt. At this point it’s more “why risk injury to your 3rd string”

I’m an Oregon alum (Law ‘06) and I’d much rather it be in Autzen. Eugene would be more insane than it already is (in a good way). The Rose should host the natty permanently

It’s borderline criminal the top 4 seeds get screwed out of this atmosphere because they’re good

Prime loves the spotlight, but pretty sure I heard Hunter say in the post-award interview that he didn’t want his mom on camera. No idea why, she seemed very pleasant when ESPN interviewed her ( admittedly I know nothing of his backstory beyond JSU)

I'm not going to dispute any of this. All I'm saying is the media (TV media specifically), by shifting the target of the killer's anger, is subtly trying to make him less sympathetic and obscuring the reasons for his anger. And I find that reframing abhorrent.

One thing I noticed watching TV coverage last night is they kept saying Luigi had problems with the "healthcare industry" (nurses and doctors). No, he had problems with the "health insurance industry" (Ivy league MBAs). These are two very different things.

Fun fact! My old man represented him when he got caught stealing an alarm clock from Roses when he was at Virginia. I bragged about that quite a bit in elementary school

It’s almost as if he’s going to be up for reelection against an incredibly popular governor in the 2026 midterms which will most likely be a bloodbath for Republicans (assuming we still have elections in 2026)

Fair enough. I tried good faith engagement but evidently that doesn't work (in case you didn't notice I have a fucking hammer and sickle in my profile pic, I'm as left as they come). I wish you the best of luck in the next few years/decades. Bye General 🫡

Bud, honest question...what about what I said initially set you off? You don't appear to be a bot or anything, and I think (based upon a quick read of your timeline) that our views are pretty aligned? My last reply was probably over the line so for that I do apologize.

Sorry General, didn't mean to disrespect the troops. I personally know and like Andy Beshare(?) but I didn't mean to accept the failures of the hordes of braindead Shitlibs. I PROMISE TO DO BETTER IN THE FUTURE. Also, just in case: aa.org

Andy is the truth. He can reach people most lefties cannot. This man genuinely respects people in a way that is difficult to convey to those unfamiliar with him, but i swear he would win 400 plus electoral votes if the establishment would allow him to compete in the primary. Signed Versailles KY

I may be alone in this regard but the first CD I ever owned was Apocalypse 91 and “By the time I get to Arizona” radicalized me. Neither party is mine, not the jackass or the elephant

We did that too. And let me tell you in the Gibbs glory days Frank, Sonny & Sam were amazing. Their brains started turning to mush about the time Snyder took over. Once Danny replaced Herzog with one of his illegitimate children they became unlistenable.

Which is why FSUs only appropriate response is to accept the Orange invite, get in the extra practices, dress for the game, and walk off the field right before kickoff, making ESPN fill a 4 hour programming void. Know who screwed you and stick it to them.

This sounds suspiciously like the KY Dems. Only reason we have Andy B as governor now is the the GOP ran a candidate that even THEY thought was a little too much of a prick last time.

CBS had the NFC package for all of the Gibbs glory years of my youth. And had a ‘91 WAS-ATL playoff game vs. Glanville that is one of my faves where the freebie seat cushions rained down. I’d post the YouTube link but the slur name is on the title card…easy enough to find if one so desires.

You’re right, it’s the Seminole Tribe of Florida. I will readily admit my ignorance about how representative STF is of the Seminole population generally., which I probably should have checked. I certainly wasn’t trying to pull a Danny Snyder.

I'm going to let the Seminole Nation decide for themselves what they think is bigoted against them specifically as it is their name in question. But stick with paternalism if that's your thing.
comment in response to

To be fair, the Seminole Nation approved FSU's nickname/imagery on the record not too long ago. Different when you're working with a distinct identifiable subgroup that signs off on things (and I think gets $$ somehow?) as opposed to generalized stereotypes like "Braves" and "Chiefs"
