I watched the audience of women and service members of all shades of skin. They were stiff upper-lipped as training and protocol demand. I cannot imagine being in that room. I doubt there is much respect for this unqualified Reserve Major who is clearly uncomfortable. As he should be.

I visited the Pentagon recently and remarked to my escort there were lots of bathrooms. He said it’s because the Pentagon’s in Virginia and when it was built Jim Crow laws were in effect - there had to be separate bathrooms for blacks. The past isn’t dead. It isn’t even past.
