It’s now Sunday and Trump’s Big Ugly bill is still being read on the Senate floor. We need to use this time to get the word out: -16 million Americans losing health care -premiums skyrocketing -hospitals closing And that's just SOME of what it means for health care. Senators must VOTE NO.

Trump's Big Ugly bill will "destroy millions of jobs in America." It's also "utterly insane and destructive."   "It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future."   But I didn't say that—Elon did. Senators must vote NO to save our clean energy future.

For a budget bill like this, both parties get 10 hours of debate each. Democrats used our time to spell out explicitly what a catastrophe Trump’s Big Ugly bill is. I guess Republicans can’t actually defend this disaster so they’re forfeiting their time and going to bed.

We've begun offering and debating amendments on Trump's Big Ugly bill here in the Senate. But let's be clear: this bill polls like garbage because it is garbage. It belongs nowhere but the trash bin. Senators must vote NO.

Growing up, my dad lost his job after getting MS. Mom was raising 7 kids & needed skills training before she could find work—both unemployed for months. Food stamps kept us fed, but my family wouldn't even qualify today under the Big Ugly bill. It's just wrong. Senators must vote NO.

Republicans are racing to pass perhaps the most expensive bill in history, adding TRILLIONS to the debt, by trashing Senate rules.   Don’t EVER tell me we can’t afford to invest child care after we set trillions on fire to give tax breaks to billionaires who don’t need them.

Murray: This bill polls like garbage because it is garbage. That's why it should go nowhere except a trash bin

Imagine doing all the right things, showing up for all of your check-ins and hearings, only to be deported with no day in court. This is the reality for so many immigrants in this country right now. We must demand due process for all.

When I was playing gigs in Atlantic City casinos with Al Jarreau way back, everybody bashed Donald Trump all the time. He was well-known as a mobbed-up asshole who fucked over everybody who worked for him. And here we are again, except this time the whole fucking country is at stake.

I just voted NO on the motion to proceed on the Big Ugly bill. Let’s be clear: Voting YES on this procedural motion IS voting to let Republicans pass the largest health care cuts in history. This isn’t over. There will be debate & amendments. SENATORS MUST VOTE DOWN THIS BILL!

Republicans chose to release the text of their Big Ugly bill late last night. They’re trying to pass the largest cuts to health care in history late on a Saturday. So Democrats are forcing the entirety of the bill to be read on the Senate floor. We won’t let them hide.

Republicans told us they wanted to vote on their Big Ugly bill promptly at 4pm ET. We’re here. But it seems they’re not ready to go. I guess they’re still working on buying the votes they need to cut Medicaid, close hospitals, and kick seniors out of nursing homes.

If Republicans won’t conduct oversight on Trump’s illegal immigration actions, I will. As Ranking Member of the Immigration Subcommittee, I’m conducting shadow hearings — and yesterday, we held a hearing on the administration's arrests at immigration courts.

This ruling is deeply alarming, but let's be clear: Trump’s lying again. Probably because his staff will tell him whatever makes him happy. Or maybe he just can’t understand. Regardless, his anti-American EO is still unconstitutional, and it WILL be fought any way we can.

My favorite Zohran moment of this campaign. And why, more generally, he won:

I'm going to try and communicate with my Republican colleagues in a new way.

From prenatal support to cancer screenings, Planned Parenthood is dedicated to the full spectrum of women's health care. The Supreme Court is telling women that their lives are disposable and their health doesn't matter. Shameful.

Kari Lake is responsible for an agency that is supposed to promote truth. Yet she continues to promote dictators, authoritarians, and lies.

They’re telling us @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social is making lofty promises — meanwhile Trump said we wouldn’t have to pay taxes anymore because tariffs other countries pay for (nope, we do!) would cover it. GTFO.

We can't become numb to this lunacy. Republicans can't let anti-vaxxers like Lyn Redwood help OVERSEE vaccine safety. She will spread even more dangerous lies about vaccines—and she’s going to get kids killed. She doesn't belong anywhere near CDC. My full statement. ⬇️

Trump, Stephen Miller, and Tom Homan are arresting as many immigrants as possible — moms, dads, grandparents. ICE isn’t going after the “worst of the worst” like Trump promised. They’re disappearing asylum seekers, families, and relatives of citizens — many with no criminal record.

Russ Vought is already illegally withholding hundreds of billions in federal funding from our communities. Now, he's refusing to rule out cutting off even more funding with a new, illegal end run around Congress. He's ignoring common sense & the plain text of the law.

We all want to get rid of waste, fraud, and abuse. But the fraud in health care isn’t with poor and working people — it’s with the corporate insurers who rip off the government and the American people.

Elon Musk said Social Security is a "Ponzi scheme" and President Trump called it a "scam." Now, this Administration is decimating the Social Security Administration so they can privatize your hard-earned benefits. We've seen this playbook before. Hands off Social Security!

Republicans in Mike Johnson’s own state are saying that “people are going to die” because of Trump’s big, bad betrayal budget. But he doesn’t care. He’ll do anything to make his billionaire buddies happy. www.politico.com/news/2025/06...

Republicans may have a lot of power right now but that doesn’t mean we have none. Three years after Dobbs, I will keep telling the stories of the women suffering under Republican abortion bans. I will keep fighting anti-choice policies. And I’ll keep working to restore abortion rights nationwide.

AOC: Being taken is wrong, it is illegal, it is a violation of his First Amendment rights, it is an affront to every American, and we will not allow—and will continue to resist—the politicization and the continued political persecution that ICE is engaged in.

Gina raised her 3 grandkids after her daughter Tiffany died in 2007, delaying care for pulmonary hypertension because she was uninsured after losing her job.   Tiffany's story helped pass the ACA. Now, Gina is fighting to protect Medicaid.   No cuts to Medicaid. We can't go back.

Congress has the sole power to declare war – full stop. The idea that the US would potentially deploy a bunker buster bomb in Iran w/out Congressional approval not only flies in the face of our Constitution, it would also rope us into another forever war that Americans do not want.

Republicans want to destroy the solvency of Social Security so that they can get rid of it. Social Security is an EARNED BENEFIT. And I will never stop fighting to protect it.

Politicians should not be able to interfere in health care decisions that belong between doctors, patients, and their families. The fight for trans rights doesn't end at the Supreme Court. We carry it forward in Congress, in state capitols, and in our communities.

While this outcome from the Supreme Court – which allows a Tennessee ban on gender affirming care to stand — is incredibly disappointing, I will never stop fighting for trans communities across this country. 🏳️‍⚧️ www.cbsnews.com/news/supreme...

Today, I visited the Denise Louie Education Center, an early learning center that provides support services for families and children. As Trump works to defund education across the country, I’m working to support places like Denise Louie and the good they do for our communities.

Jesus, this video. What a sadistic psychopath. And he was allowed to terrorize people for at least three years before he was finally held accountable.

There are no kings in America. We need to remind ourselves that our voices are important. That we do need to stand up and say what we believe in. That's how we change the direction of this country. That's what democracy is.

Medicaid pays for 60% of births in Mike Johnson’s home state of Louisiana — yet he voted to cut Medicaid. If you’re not voted into office to defend the health and wellbeing of your constituents, what the hell are you there for?

The American flag walked so this flag could fly.

Sly Stone made a lot of timeless, enjoyable, challenging music. But “Hot Fun in the Summertime” is arguably the greatest 45 RPM record ever issued.

If "may you live in interesting times" really was a Chinese curse, this is what it would wish on us.

Today, Republicans advanced a bill through committee to lock up parents and doctors for providing gender affirming care to young trans people. This targeting of trans kids who are doing zero harm and just trying to live their lives is beyond cruel.

My message to Trump’s NIH Director? No one in America wants us to do LESS cancer research. No one is asking Trump to make it harder to cure Alzheimer's disease. Yet Trump is cutting all of this NOW and demanding an $18 BILLION cut to NIH next year. Not on my watch.

I'm glad that some Republicans seem to know very well that immigrants power their communities and that Trump's indiscriminate mass deportations are just plain wrong and are speaking out against them.

Gavin Newsom Is Giving Democrats What They Wanted From Congress. youtu.be/utoxhn4hErM?...

Trump doesn't want you to know this, but he's currently trying to ram through a Big, Ugly Betrayal of a bill that will kick 16 million Americans off their health care. All just to cut taxes for billionaires and giant corporations who don't need it. Every Senator should vote NO.
