This is oh so Soviet. www.nbcnews.com/politics/jus...

Another bad bill in the Florida Legislature. This one includes a provision that would prohibit sending remittances abroad by individuals not authorized to be in the country. It would harm economies abroad dependent on remittances and ironically increase immigration as a result.

Tra-la...la-la 🎶

There’s nobody I can imagine who would do the same.

Another song from 1950. Carnival Day Dave Bartholomew youtu.be/63ykZ47NBDo?...

In 1950, the rest of the country had no idea what these songs were about but they liked what they heard. #Nola

Bec mon tchu, putain!

I can vaguely remember a parade route on the West Bank Expressway in 1972. It wasn't elevated or as busy back then.

"Grandma was very proud that (Taelor) was singing in our beautiful Choctaw language. Our grandma never spoke in English; she only spoke in Choctaw. She was adamant about our family speaking in our language, so we don't ever lose it,” Marissa Morris said.

These amendments are policy priorities of the Gov., who threatened to withhold infrastructure funding from NOLA if the city didn't prosecute women seeking abortions, as the city's infrastructure slowly sinks. He's also besties with Donald Trump Jr. Let's derail his plans!

They are assholes.

I want this record. Recorded by Okeh Remote Recording Truck in 1924 in New Orleans. Also, give me information about Lela Bolden. She was vaudeville performer. She is most likely African American/Creole because the 8000 series was Race Records. Yes, that is what they called it back then.

I can't wait. I will drive from Pensacola to Mobile then hop the train to New Orleans!!!

I knew they would come around.

Back by popular demand, it’s the first malaka of the week post of 2025. Incoming Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino has never run anything but his mouth. The malakatude, it burns That is not the featured image. The one thing I don't like about bluesky.

Can we drag it down to Camp?

The AP says its case is about an unconstitutional effort by the White House to control speech—in this case refusing to change its style from the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America."
