In the scheme of things, whatever. I work in a hospital and maybe he was having a bad day, but I am so endlessly tired of being expected to make the world easy for men, and being identified as a problem if I don't.

When I cracked my window and pointed out that (a) this really wasn't possible and (b) there are typically dozens of spaces on the level below this ramp he was stuck on, he sneered, rolled his eyes, and yelled, "simmer down, sunshine."

He got out of the car and started demanding that everyone back up, so that the one car could get out and he could get in. He got up in my window, pointing out exactly where and how I should move my car, in violation of the laws of physics AND decency.

Trying to park in the garage at work, which is indeed sometimes a nightmare, a dude in a Lexus decided to hover for a space in such a way that no traffic could move in either direction, nor could the person in that space get out.
Literally 25 cars unable to move. I was the one right behind him.

When the DNC is in charge they adamantly refuse to put out the fires set by the GOP claiming if they did that, they'd lose the next round of elections. And then lose the next round anyway. Imagine calling 911 and they said "hold up, we can't send a truck because the arsonist may strike again"

I read enough of Atlas Shrugged to write a scathing paper in my undergrad years, and that was more than plenty.

This is, of course, oversimplified.
But as they say, with power comes responsibility.

Any philanthropic entity that uses this particular moment to pull back from potentially "controversial" grantmaking decisions is demonstrating that maintaining power has priority over effecting real change.

Many of these organizations have also historically relied on state and federal grants. With the recent spate of executive orders and the chaos that has ensued, the nonprofit organizations that work to protect and elevate the most vulnerable among us are facing imminent existential threat.

Wandered off before finishing this thought.
Anyway: in a perfect world, protection of human rights and access to basic needs would not be contingent on private philanthropy, but as it stands, most community-based nonprofits rely on grants from foundations and individual donors.

I mean, I have the most of the colors I never use, because I never use it. Whereas my blue fabric barely has a minute to sit on the shelf.
