That's true and it's a concern I share. But this particular concerted reaction by Dems is low on my list of what I see as dereliction of fight on their part.

I hear that. But when these two nincompoops are slinging mud at each other, I don't necessarily think anyone needs to do much of anything, other than what AOC did, ie, call them girls.

Yes, this is what they think. They must disavow it because they're grown-ups. I differ from apparently 100% of Bluesky in that I don't think what the Dems do or say here matters much at all, and I don't think the distancing/disavowals matter either. Most average people tend to disavow this stuff.

LGM is not opening up for me today. Not sure if this is a me issue or a site issue.

No one will lose coverage, gutting USAID will cause no deaths, climate change and covid are both hoaxes, and it's all the fault of the Biden crime family anyway.

Your point, while accurate, is pretty broadly understood. The question, as always, is what the hell do we do about it? The far-reaching structural and constitutional reforms we need will, of course, face the same opposition by the GOP that you remark upon above.

He's actually that much of a pussy.

The answer is "Ashes to Ashes."

These bros are deranged.

I think there's a lot to this.

Is this the guy who killed the couple in DC?

Such corrupt logic from this simp.

"rare earth minerals" just sounds cool and exotic, therefore...

I had no doubt that it was a suicide... until now.

Shocking, I say.

What the actual fuck is with this dude?
comment in response to post
Is it really toxic?

What is that a picture of?
comment in response to post
Inflation, media normalization of Trump, collective amnesia about his first term.

Um indeed. What a mixed up and hateful person, my god.

Already has.

I agree with you, but the obvious rejoinder, and one we're going to need to be ready for, is that 100% of women nominees have lost.

I'd rate he launches a nuke at Denmark as more likely than the GOP allowing him to be removed from office.
comment in response to post
Isn't it mostly just an expression of exhaustion and not really intended as anything beyond that?

Every other week was a screed about the Manhattanization of San Francisco. A lot of this stuff was resonant in environmentalist circles. Probably still is.

I think it comes out of leftist ideas about halting growth. When I lived in SF in the '90s, this was one of the Bay Guardian's hobby horses.

According to the Boss, there were 57 channels in 1992. youtu.be/YAlDbP4tdqc?...

He's definitely not forgotten and is very well known in certain circles. Obviously these circles are pretty small and they seem to be getting smaller all the time. But, yeah, he's great, and with a really varied oeuvre.

Recieve - ha-ha

The problem with this, and it's the same set of dynamics that has allowed Trump to take control of the GOP, is the GOP itself. There are three or four GOP senators, tops, that will vote to convict. That's not gonna be enough.
comment in response to post
Yeah, dude needs to update his assumptions.

Does she have any ties to LDS?

Thomas would have been all for it.

What are we talking about here? Who is the primary candidate?

I can't keep up with everything: What pollster and what governor?

All these months later and I think I misremembered the sentence. It's even more verkakte than the one I presented: "It was one of my students' moms' devices." I think they should both be plural possessive, but I can't be certain. Crazy stuff.

No need to let Kavs or Gors off the hook either.

What an eye-opening essay, thanks for sharing.

Real or sarcasm? Cannot tell and would rather not guess (but I'm thinking real).

This means that the bond market is going down, right? What does the bond market going down mean in terms of the big picture? I'm very dumb about economics.

Where does he live?

Allow me. He is a moron.

They were always interested in limiting speech and behavior they didn't like, but I, too, have been shocked by their complete lack of principles and utter shamelessness when it comes to protecting democracy and our system of free trade and free markets, not to mention the global economy.
