This might be an unpopular take, but I think Whitmer should be applauded for this. She knew Trump would almost certainly humiliate and embarrass her, but she did it anyway because she was thinking of her constituents. That's the kind of grit and selflessness we want in our leaders.

It is in line with his desire to degrade and publicly humiliate people who ask for his help.

Interesting that colleges in a lot of red states haven't been hit. There are several possible reasons for that, but I'd just like to point it out.

X2 was above average, and I liked it a lot.
The first X-Men is one of my top 5 comic book movies, no doubt.

Is this some kind of inside secret message only a few people are privy to?
Like, "If I ever say Spider-Man 3 was good, call 911 immediately. It means I've been kidnapped."

Gotta disagree here. 2000's "X-Men" did the "grounded in material reality" so much better. The opening scene alone elevated it to more than "just a comic book movie" and showed that the film was infused with real-world subject matter.

This is why I'm afraid Republicans will find some way to cancel/indefinitely postpone/etc, the 2026 midterms.
Even as meek as the Dems are, the GOP has to know that a lot of them will be held accountable. They'll burn the country down before they let that happen.

An efficient, industrialized system for producing human misery--why does that seem so familiar?

I can sort of see how they reached that conclusion, though. American voters do tend to forget things fairly quickly.
