Thank you. I needed to hear this at this moment. We too are finding ourselves looking for a new church and it is SO hard to start over, to rebuild new trust in others.

This is why I don't believe a flat tax would be fair!

My wife and I ordered two books! One for us and another to give away!

I also legitimately laughed at the Himpathy term.

"It was a lightbulb moment when I realized these are essentially the same story" I think this article was mine! Thinking through what I've heard taught about these stories echoes exactly what you found. Thanks for bringing all these ideas together in this article.

I was at a store I frequent today and the owner made this exact comment. He was a Marine and said, "the Russians have always been the bad guys, what is going on?!?"

It is definitely rough.

I grabbed one as soon as they went up on Lego. My boys and I love playing Fortnite together. It's a pretty great set!

Envious. Gotta work today.

In discussions I do try to steer clear of CNN, ABC, etc. because they have bought the lie that you can't trust "Left Wing Media" and immediately write off what you say.

2/2 As for some others, the discussions where they actually stop to think are when I explain or even show them things that will directly hurt them that they have no clue about because Fox News doesn't report it. The rest will die on that hill, weither the pull of celebrity or religious belief.

1/2 The people I work with almost exclusively voted for Trump. Many even acknowledge that they agree with little he stood for, but felt "he would do better for the economy." Some have already seen the damage he has done (DEI, tariffs, etc.) and I feel regret their choices.

This was a fascinating post to read. Those connections are so cool! So I guess that makes him the father of the MCU's version of the Black Panther.

Don't blame you. It's getting scary out there!

These hit right at it! Using the word "leader" rarely looks like leading, more like "I get my way when I want it".

This is exactly why I bought a PS5 for my son for Christmas and why I bought a PS5 Portal last week. I didn't want to wait for the high prices of new or the inflated prices the used market will inevitably have.

I felt the same about the first season. Got about 3 in and quit. Maybe I'll give it a try next time we get Prime.

Those look nice! I think I need to go get a pair!

I asked someone I was talking to where the Bible tells you to be the leader as a husband. He thought for a minute and said he can't think of anywhere specific. Obviously he launched into the "but women are told to SUBMIT!" It is so ingrained into the Evangelical Mind. 😞

You could always record what things you turned down on policies and use those as a small bit of leverage in your next pay negotiations.

Have this but still trying to catch up on the backlog of comics to get to it. Have you read any of the current Ultimate line? I'm really enjoying those. Also Uncanny X-Men is great right now with Gail Simone writing.

I agree with many of the comments above. The GOAL is finding a solution. You are both on the same team, ego shouldn't play into it.

This is a great read. It seems everyone that comes out of the complementarian mindset has that "ahah" moment where they see the cracks and can't ignore it anymore. I'm thankful my wife found your book "The Great Sex Rescue" and started us away from that path.

You are shockingly spot on with this comparison!

This is SO awesome! That is one of our family's favorite movies. One of our cats is named Jiji after her cat.

My wife and I have done Eevee evolutions, costumes, etc as our themes. It's fun to come back later and see others got what you are doing and follow the theme.

Unfortunately much of the time I feel Evangelical Christianity only tactic is an "us vs. them" statement. If you are not "in the fold" you are "one of them". No nuance reflecting actual life.

Whoops. That was bag 13.
