You are not more likely to be killed by a coconut as a shark. This is a statistical error. Sharks Georg, who swims under a coconut tree anr is killed by 10,000 coconuts a year is an outlier adn should not have been counted.

Is it one of those situations where a villain is just so evil it comes out physically like Palatine or Voldemort?

It's noticeably less perpetuated by Jeff Bezos, coincidentally owner of the Washington Post

Something my highschool IT teacher used to say was "In 95% of cases the cause of the issue is sitting in front of the screen"

Not surprising when most online discussion is just "this objectively is the best/worst thing ever" as if every critique was just a long thumb up or down button Can't really nuance when it's always superlatives.

"non profit industrial complex" words have no meaning anymore we can just say anything

What they mean, and probably misunderstand is that you should wait for a toddler to react to what happened before you react. But that is neither what is advocated for here, nor what happens to trans people analogically
comment in response to post
I just realized fascism was let into Power the same way you convince toddlers to eat their veggies.

You could do anything as long as you were sensible about and wore a suit. The left could probably convince some Dems to necromantically revive Marx if they asked deadpan and conceded reviving Engels

Liberals at some point just dropped all their values and picked up calm, level headed debate as the only thing they care about. Anything goes as long as you can sign the papers for it and don't care too much for it.

Shaming diabetics for using insulin from deeply evil pharmaceutical companies is leftist praxis. Because if you don't die for pointless virtue signaling you're a liberal actually

What about pictograms? Is it good if a card explains it's function over multiple pages of pictograms

Turns out his concerns for AI going rogue were warranted, he should have been more cautious. I wonder if this will make conservatives do a complete 180 on AI now

It was Celestine V, who resigned for five months and then just quit cuz he wasn't feeling it anymore. Then he died in prison

I remember there was a pope who was involuntarily part of a power struggle, so he just made it legal to quit and then did that immediately

But a ton of famous people don't do that and just use the default .bsky. Now you know that Mark Hamill or whoever is actually that person

True feminism is defining womanhood as being a 1960s housewife apparently.

I'll take what I can get. Even if it's performative, it is some resistance and might motivate other Dems to do more. Yesterday it's Greene, today it's Booker, maybe someone else will get active tomorrow and maybe the party will get their shit together.

He looks directly into the camera to say "you would be a good communist" AC Syndicate also has a song making fun of rich guy dying and one which is literally just "Let's go eat the rich" I think there's some subtext here

God forbid schools show and discuss contemporary media about a problem. Children spend most of their time in school and can't escape it. Directly approaching them and giving an avenue to talk about this is definitely not bad policy
comment in response to post
It's probably more that they're aware and appropriating it on purpose. Fascists also just suck at maing culture, so they have to do stuff like this
comment in response to post
China can very much attack Taiwan. That's called a war. Anthropomorphizing countries would be ascribing thoughts and feelings to them, not saying they're doing stuff. You don't need to be person to do stuff, just any entity. Countries are entities.

Brutally unintuitive, requires readjusting the temperature by feel every time 1 knob for how much, 1 knob with temperature numbering You should be able to read the temperature off the dials, not figure it out through some magical bonding ritual with the water

I don't think focusing on Trump just being a Russian asset is good rhetoric. It downplays the very real fascistic intentions of his administration. Yes he is catering to Russia, but he would still harm people in the US if Russia wasn't there.

But far less publicly. Most people don't do research on the people who run the companies they buy from. Most Tesla buyers from earlier models probably just bought it because it's a Sports car EV from a renowned brand, not viewing it differently to BMW or Mercedes

This isn't feminism, this is posturing. Taking this as the example for how feminism acts is ironically the exact same thing as taking the naming of some Characters as an example on how Kojima views women.
comment in response to post
There are a lot things to criticize Kojima for in terms on how he writes and portrays women, especially in the titles before DS, but the names aren't it. He just gives everyone some codename.

Die-Hard-Man, Deadman, Heartman from Death Stranding and Snake, Ocelot, Otacon, Vulcan Raven, Big Boss and Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear. Mama isn't even her only name, it's a code name, her actual name is Målingen
comment in response to post
Although that does break the naming scheme. However, all those with concept names are employed by Bridges, whole Fragile isnt. Die-hard-Man and Mama have other names, Fragile doesn't
comment in response to post
She was named after her parents company, according to the wiki. It's her legal name
comment in response to post
There are women who aren't Mamas but there are no Mamas who aren't people unless you add another word. If you tell someone Mama did this and that, they'd think of a Person. If you tell someone Heart or Die-Hard did this and that it'd be ambiguous what you mean
comment in response to post
But Mama describes a person, while the rest describes objects or concepts. Mamawoman is redundant, which is why it sounds stupid. Same reason why Sam is named Porter and not Porterman.

I'd love if there was info you can get as a reward where it just points out the Monsters have exactly one more of anything than the max drop. "Don't worry, the three hearts you got were spares, it keeps the fourth one"

The ancient Greek kind. It means being deliberately hot while just working in your office job. Being labeled the hot colleague but on purpose
comment in response to post
I don't think the left needs to compromise on feminist ideals, but they do need to move away from the messaging that men just need to get over themselves and man up.
