They are. That's why they're investigating something they already know the answer to and know they won't have to regulate. Are the price increases justified by the market shortages (exacerbated by hoarding?) I'm sure the investigation will conclude "yes."

"old HP Color Laserjet" Back in the day that would have been my recommendation. I wouldn't touch one today based on their shenanigans. It's really sad. I have a Brother B&W laser printer that meets my needs.

Yes, but they should consider getting a retainer and billing against that. Trump has a reputation for stiffing contractors.

I fear the US is entering a dark age. There are just too many things being don wrong.

* Executive leadership which is incapable of telling the truth. * Executive leadership that says they will comply with court orders but then does not. * Legislative leadership too cowed to resist. * Judiciary leadership that sits by and watches. I didn't think I would need so many pages. 😕 5/5

* Dismantling the EPA and walking back regulations so commercial interests can pollute our environment. * Dismantling the VA and failing to fund the program that provides medical help for those poisoned during their service. * Turning HHS over to an avowed vaccine denier. WTF. 4/5

* Cruelty toward the people being fired "for cause" to besmirch their reputation and prevent their ability to get unemployment compensation. * Trashing our national park system which is minuscule portion of the budget. No money is saved but I fear it paves the way to selling off irreplaceable parks.

Pro tip: Like Covid, climate change won't go away just because we stop measuring it. * Taking a sledge hammer to our government. (The metaphor used is a chain saw.) 2/5

"This Podcast Will Kill You" just covered the Amanita. (The deadly one, of course.)

app vs. packaging.

I suppose the "why" is because once the user gets over the hump of learning Docker (or Podman, LXC, etc), it solves a *lot* of support issues relating to various dependencies. Also the Dev only has to target Docker vs. Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL, Arch, Fedora and so on. That allows them to focus on the

I'm using Docker containers for Home Assistant, Gitea, and Mosquitto (on Raspberry Pis) and CheckMK on my Intel based file server. It just occurred to me that I might be able to use a Docker container to build 32 bit binaries on 64 bit RpiOS. 4/4

NB - I'm a retired S/W professional and first deployed Docker at work for testing S/W on what was probably the only Linux host in a manufacturer that used Windows. I wrote Dockerfiles that constructed images that ran some S/W tests. 3/

I'd need to do that with a traditional install, along with installing dependencies. Of course this is all made easier with the use of package managers, but then I'd be tied to the versions that the distro packages. I could get around that by running smthng like Arch, but that has its own costs. 2/

I'm curious what leads you to think that this is the case. I'm a fan of containers and Docker in particular. I find it easier to pull an image, configure some settings in the Docker command (typically ports and volumes) and start it up. 1/

Get yourself a decent solder sucker and replace the keys with something that feels better to you. This is a fixable problem. I replaced some keys on my Das Keyboard because they were repeating. It wasn't that difficult.

That really resonates with me. Beans and cabbage are the, er, killer combo. Jerusalem artichokes if you're really aggressive.

In that part of the culinary world, you probably want to add some cumin. But go easy, it's pretty pungent.

No pillow is any good for smothering. The victim can still breathe through it. (About my only complaint about the ending to Cuckoo's Nest.) A plastic bag FTW. Or so a friend told me.

McDonald's products are delicious by design. They're good but not particularly good for you. For someone on death's door, I don't see a problem. I just wish that when I got a fish sandwich at McDonald's, it looked like the one in that picture.

We have Greenland right on our doorstep! And don't even start on Canada. 90% of their population is within 150 miles (striking distance) of the US border. 😱

I wrote a client in C on an STM MCU that would reset the module when it crashed and resume the download using HTML 1.1. It was a bit of work but I was getting paid for that.
comment in response to post
Have fun! The closest I ever got was to write a little web client for an embedded device. We were using a Wifi module that provided download functionality but it crashed before the download was complete. And since it only supported HTML 1.0 there was no resume.

Yes, the only sensible option at this point. It's only coming up for discussion because of it's removal from the kernel.

I don't know. I used it back when it was fresh. I can't recall why except perhaps because it was new and shiny. I think it might have remained relevant had it's inventor not murdered his wife and development had continued. It was doomed when further work stopped.

If your turkey had bones, you could make turkey stock and from that, turkey gravy. Then a slice of bread, some turkey and smother it with turkey gravy. It will probablyt need some salt to bring out the best. Maybe some black pepper and Worcestershire to add umami. Pro tip: Insta Pot for stock.

That's my expectation as well. Unfortunately when that happens, the Libs will be blamed and the MAGA folk will believe that. 😕 And there will likely be a lot of collateral damage.

www.politifact.com/truth-o-mete... For example, his highest priority (along with The Republican controlled congress) was defeating Obama-care. Where did that go? Just this week he tried to force a shutdown to get the debt limit increased before he took office. And that failed as well. Wait and see

It's not really that simple. First of all, you never know if he means what he says. Second, he says things to get attention. Third, he does not have authority to do most of the things he says he "plans" to do. Canada? Panama? Greenland? I guess he can ask Musk to buy them for him.
