Well, except while playing baseball.

Are they still freely offering their massive, centrally located facility as a headquarters for the gestapo, bc I feel like the lede is being buried.

'..we wont actually make them do that, mind you, that would be rude to our donors, but they had BETTER BE PREPARED'

I highly recommend checking out Casuals, a podcast by Katie Nolan, that is about exactly this conundrum. Lots of fun, talks about figuring out the culture of being a fan from the outside, and how to get inside.

Hey, stop being a stenographer for his stock portfolio.

Every game in the W, there are between seven and eight fouls that would get an NBA player tased by security and arrested. It's beautiful.

You built a vast follower base of bots and people who follow back, hard to believe it hasnt led to taste-maker status.

it will never get better. This company will ALWAYS do this, bc it isnt built to safely transport people and material into orbit - it's built to soak governments for contracts, and to rinse tax fiascos. It will never learn, bc it isnt failing. Everything is going according to plan.

Like a car making it to mass production, except it still sets itself on fire, cant survive a car wash, and locks its passengers inside during most of the moments that they would most desire to get out of the burning car. Same shit, just way more dramatic when it's a spaceship.

SpaceX is blowing ships up during the bits that it - a company trying to privatize space launches - is supposed to have built off the labor of states to create efficiencies; these catastrophic detonations are happening SO far down the product cycle it's staggering.

The CCCP was an expression of an ideological desire to push the boundaries of human aspiration - NASA was, largely, an effort to match and surpass their achievements built out of absurd American paranoia. Both were ventures into the unknown.

In another world, someone would write about Henry's incredible animosity towards gifted hitters of color who dont bend and scrape, and the resultant impossible number of astounding players the Sox have traded away under his ownership, for a return worth somewhat less than a bag of actual dicks.

Like, this isnt different than how every other aspect of news media functions, now, but sports is so meaningless and insignificant, and it's coverage is still completely defined by the hysterical whims of a rich guy everyone fucking hates.

Also, like, X actively throttles traffic - like, the thing it was best known for, it now structurally prevents from occurring. It doesnt want people to leave, and that's what made twitter successful - it knew you'd leave, then come back for the next thing to look for.

I mean, viable alternative to what? The twitter that was is not, and never will be again - it has no parallel, and with the internet we have, will never have one. The twitter that IS, is a genuine mess, and a purposefully malign actor. This site is just this site. Use it, or dont.

So much stupider, honestly. There wasnt any major media where people could dissent - protests raged uncovered, and networks essentially competed to see who could tell the most jingoistic lies to sate the administration. And the admin was *fucking stupid* - no push back, no criticism.

In the kidnapping video I posted above, the young kid in the blue Walmart vest getting roughed up by ICE, is 20-year-old Adrian Martinez, a US citizen who was taken hostage by ICE for speaking up for his kidnapped coworker.

Funny, none of your yellow vests are shooting at these guys.

This would be the largest public lands sell-off in modern U.S. history and it's happening with no hearings, no debate, and no public input. See what public lands would be available for sale: www.wilderness.org/articles/med...

Buried in a Senate budget bill is a massive giveaway to corporate developers and fossil fuel companies. It forces the sale of at least 2 million acres of Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management land in 11 Western states *every 60 days* until millions of acres are gone.

The bigger question is which board member's child had the idea, bc I struggle to imagine it was anyone who actually works in the industry.
