after playing king's field 1 and 2 I think there should be more first person games that DO NOT have mouse or right-stick camera controls - I think there's a whole realm of physicality that's being overlooked in favor of something that feels a bit convenient or akin to uhhh using microsoft excel

I have finished my King's Field 1 (1994) Let's Play, including the live recording of my thrilling final boss fight where I cast Light Needle 800 times. youtu.be/DR6v7tAh4-w?... I've also been recording KF2 (1995)! I think about 2/3 through, but the episodes will come out no more than one a day.

been revisiting ds2 recently and this is exactly it. the overall damage is much lower but enemies have a tendency to take bits off your healthbar even if you're good at dodging. makes prepping for longer levels essential.

thats a wrap on king's field 1! a lot of fun. love it was less than 10 hours long too. the final boss (tree in hell)feels like a bed of chaos predecessor. I couldn't figure out how to use the moonlight greatsword's magic to 8-shot the boss, so I cast "Light Needle" 800 times over 15 minutes to win.
