If your family can’t celebrate who you are, I’m your Nonna now. 💙📚🕉️🏳️🌈
I love democracy, single malt scotch and reading books, talking about books, collecting books and my grandchildren.

It sure seems that way. It’s up to us, the white, suburban women who have money and influence, to give a fuck. Join your local Democrat group, state National Organization for Women, whatever you can do. When my sisters are targeted, it hurts all of us. Wake up, women, read the room!

For me, it is more that I don’t want to support any business or organization that I find offensive. No, Target doesn’t care, just like Trump doesn’t care what I think, but being silent is being complicit, so, I boycott, I protest, I vote. Full court press. We can all join the fight in so many ways.

Can you imagine if we headed the warnings of Anita Hill and Dr.Blasey Ford, elected Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris, or even just opened our hearts to Bishop Budde, what our country would be like.

For me, the other flags represent a desire to persecute others or force them to deny who they are. The rainbow flag is for all of us; to be able to live our authentic lives the way we were created. Listen to a wise old lady; love is love and grows when it is shared. So knock off all the hate shit.

May her memory be a blessing. For me, it will remind me to keep fighting, even when dealt a crappy hand. Thank you, Ms Richards, from me, my daughters and all of my grandchildren, female and male, whatever their authentic life reveals.

That is the picture of a real mensch. Not perfect, lots of gaffes, but cares about people and his country. What happened? Did half of the country have strokes?

I understand. Bookstores are so manipulative. My local bookstore put in a coffee bar so that the delicious aroma would remind me to rescue a book or two from the shelves. After all that effort, how could I not go in.🤷♀️

I am collecting books for my grandchildren that have been threatened to be banned or restricted from libraries. I may be over reacting, but remember what they promised us about Roe.

Here’s the deal; we senior citizens will help with this if they leave our Medicare and Social Security the fuck alone.

Yikes, I am a Jersey girl visiting friends in Cartago, Colombia. Your pix of a bagel is making me home sick. Enjoy. And yes, NJ bagels really do rival Brooklyn bagels, but I will gladly do more taste testing.

? Three creepy old white guys that I wouldn’t allow near my grandchildren or invite over for dinner, that’s what Special Ambassador means?!? No thanks.

Those of us who have “privilege” will have to step up in a big way. Being an ally means forgoing some of our comfort to stand up for the rights of ALL. I know we can do this.

After working in the local food pantry ( day of service to honor Dr. King) I intend on binge watching the Great British Baking Show. A much more valuable use of my time, and I don’t even bake.

It is exhausting, but you are not alone. This community will join forces, educate each other, and cause “good trouble” Some of us will focus locally, others, on national issues. We will support our democracy and each other. I intend on taking a lot of long walks, punching pillows, but never giving up

Not only a badass feminist, but an OG badass feminist. I would love to be part of a starter pack. This Italian grandmother from Jersey is still in the fight and would love to join forces with like minded people. As I say in my bio, if your family doesn’t celebrate who you are, I am your Nona now.

Taking books out from the library is like shopping without having to pay! Just hand that nice librarian your card and you get book for free. And, when you bring them back, you get to do it all over again with different books, even if you didn’t read these. No judgement. What’s not to love.

Correct me if I am mistaken (not a historian)but didn’t every administration, starting with old Bush, “borrow” from the Social Security fund and not pay it back? So now, grandpa and grandma have to choose between food and meds. So much for the Great Society.

And a seemingly never ending pot of hot tea! As long as I don’t have to eat dinner with a grumpy man with bad table manners, I am with you on this.

And then you pause some, balance out with Hoopla, until a “friend” lends you a different book that you are dying to read! An embarrassment of riches.

I think that cat would make a great Secretary of Defense . He/she is obviously trained in paw to paw combat, and is more qualified than Pete Hegseth ( but then, who isn’t).

They say that you should dress for the job you want. I’d say “First Lady” is not on her wish list.
There was a time when my heart went out to a sister in a sad marriage, but I have wised up since then. “She doesn’t care, do you.”

I met someone who was angry that he had to use different pronouns. “What does it matter what you call someone?””, he asked. So, I called him an asshole.
I know, that was not nice, but my dark side won out.

Happy Sunday. I am visiting friends in South America and I miss my buddy, Stella. Can you guess the reaming out I am going to get when I get home, even though she is being spoiled by my daughter. She is a Jersey girl, as am I, so there will be colorful language back and forth. Love my attitude girl!
