PNW foraging in recent weeks? Fringed Willow-Herb: garden had tons, added it to soup. Wavy Bittercress: Abundant in the disturbed woods nearby, also souped. Japanese Knotweed: pie & sauté. When salted it tastes like pickled grape leaf! Winter-cress: sampled on the trails. Great salad green!

I am absolutely obsessed with this piece of petrified wood. LOOK AT THAT FREAKING CELL STRUCTURE! 😍 #rockhounds #lapidary 🌿🪨 #petrifiedwood This is a Damon Point find. The tumble turned out glossy. It was 1 week each for the first three tumble steps then 3 weeks with sugar/polish for the finish.

This week has been insane! 1.5 gallons of greens foraged this week and 6.5 gallons from our small city garden. Year so far: Forage: 6 gallons Garden: 8.5 gallons This weeks harvest? Broccoli, arugula, kale, hairy bitter cress, selfheal, lemon balm, mint, common nipplewort, and fringed willowherb.

This is for my rockhounds and gardeners. I put a brewers pad in my greenhouse to keep it warm, then I realized I could solve two problems at once by putting my rock tumbler in the green house instead. Now my rock tumbler AND my tomatoes won’t freeze. #efficiency #rockhounds #gardening #lifeprotip

Let me show you what I look for in the wild when searching for circular or orbicular patterned rhyolites. The ones here were found in Washington and Oregon. Orbicular rhyolites can be harder to spot due to their rougher looking exteriors. #rhyolite #lapidary #rockhound #rockhounding #volcanic 🪨💎🌋
