I'm not so naive as to think I can convince my friends to choose Mastodon over Bluesky, but I hope some of them will opt into the fediverse so we can play in the same sandbox and make both a little more durable.

Unlike Bluesky, Mastodon is truly a decentralized world of social media, not under the control of any single entity. While Bluesky is presently popular, I'm trying not to invest too much in more corporate social media that's vulnerable to billionaires, so I'm putting more of my time into Mastodon.

To reply from my Bsky-native account: Bridgy is a service that mirrors Bluesky presence into ActivityPub/Mastodon/Fediverse and vice versa. Bridgy is opt-in, so it won't mirror you unless you follow @ap.brid.gy, meaning when I'm using Mastodon, I won't be able to see your activity unless I do.

I may return to use this account someday, but, for now, just going to give this bridging thing a try.
