💯 I have a middle schooler. Goodness knows what viruses I might be harboring at any given minute. I wear a mask at the store & at events because I can't know what I might be spreading before I'm even symptomatic. & I definitely don't want whatever someone coughing at the grocery store has.

I like to think of it as being respectful. Definitely not purely ego-protective so I don't have to confront the reality that we are not, in fact, close friends when she doesn't reply because she has better things to do with her time.

We'll never know! She didn't name her sources in the episode and I don't actually know her. I'm just going to assume that I'm right because it would be very Portland.

When Aubrey said she spoke to multiple coffee roasters, because we're both from Portland and I know two coffee roasters, I thought, "ooh, I bet I know which ones." I don't know if that's para social behavior or just "being from Portland" behavior.

This feels like pearl clutching. That channel is a financial literacy education resource run by millennials. Using a slang title to increase views so you can reach young people to teach them about economic recession seems like good marketing, not "linguistic collapse." Did you watch the video?
