This is joyous to see and one hopes it is one victory against this fascist menace the presages many more to come.

Might be retreating to my alt for a bit as I work through some stuff, but I'll come back here to post Dijon and cool things.

Did you know that most Quakers don't live in North America? A plurality lives in Africa, with Kenya having the largest population. I didn't know this until a few min ago.

PNW wyd in the 50° F temps

Sunday - 97° F / 36° C Monday - 90° F / 32° C Tuesday - 100° F / 38° C So like I guess I just won't leave my apartment for 3 days.

Egyptian Arabic word of the day: طنِّش ṭánnish "Forget about it, screw it." Fem. ṭanníshī Pl. ṭanníshū A similar term is "ṭuẓẓ". ṭánnish is closer to "forget about it" and "ṭuẓẓ" is closer to "screw it."

I have gone over 24 hours without coming up with a complicated and expensive plan to switch careers.

Ich kenne eine Katze, Dijon, und er ist schön

in case you were wondering, it takes at least 82 hours and up to 98 hours (without delays) and either 4 or 5 transfers to take a Greyhound bus from Seattle to Buffalo

Hey people who know things...if I have not used my gas stove in 4 months but the gas line has remained connected as I've paid the bill, is it safe to just start using it again? Or is it a thing where it needs regular use or things can go wrong?

Middle Persian word of the day /zōr/ power, strength (cf. Arm զօր) as in Dēnk. 5.24.21a (ed. Amouzgar and Tafazzoli) /bē pānagīh ī az yazdān meh kū zōr ī dēwān/ ``but protection by the gods is greater than demons' power"

Ok gonna make chili sin carne for dinner I think.

recognise the barkat of Lord Rasgulla and he will open the door to felicity

Currently imploring Dijon not to knock down my books.

I think the primary reason I can't listen to podcasts is all of the tangents. Trying to listen to one about horror movies and the 2 podcasters are just going on about the beer they're drinking, and it's like yeah I don't really wanna listen to two friends hanging out?

There's also the issue of "do what you love" often being a mantra of the upper class and actually encouraging the devaluation of labor with arguments such as, "well, if this is your passion, you should want to do it regardless of whether you're being paid fairly."

This is more complex. Working in the ins. industry is prestigious among some social circles and looked down on in others. In finance-heavy & wealthier, it's seen as a worthy, upper class career. Among more academic and socially focused career circles, it's viewed as a waste of a life.

I do kind of want to reach my 13th anniversary in insurance now. Is this also the medication?

Getting Colombian breakfast food

Jotting down plans to do something about my takeout problem so that I can finally save more money.

It is 9:23am, and I have already done a load of laundry, took out some boxes that have been sitting in a pile for a year, and swept the floors.
