And the national championship college football game. That’s the only thing I’m watching on TV on 1/20.

Think of it as unilateral disarmament. Is that simple enough for you.

Two big fights at football games because the visiting team tried to plant their flag in the home teams logo. It shouldn’t happen.

Of course you have the right to that opinion, but I prefer good sportsmanship. The UM OSU rivalry has been intense and is over a hundred years old. OSU players have never planted its flag at UM stadium & until 2022 UM had never done so. The rivalry doesn’t need poor sportsmanship to survive.

Yes. Michigan only has one tunnel for both teams and as a result there have been several post game fights.

Michigan isn’t prone to do it. Doing it twice in the history of the sport isn’t sufficient to establish a practice of poor sportsmanship.

No they shouldn’t be able to retaliate. Nebraska team captains refused to shake Iowa’s team captains yesterday. That was poor sportsmanship, but Iowa didn’t, and wouldn’t have been justified in retaliating. The rivalry should be contained from whistle to whistle among players.

Between Michigan & OSU I always cheer for UM. That said Mich planting their flag on OSU field was poor sportsmanship. I’ve watched most UM v. OSU games since the mid 60’s. I’ve never seen OSU plant their flag at Mich stadium, and Mich did it 2 years ago & today. It’s poor sportsmanship.

OSU wasn’t justified in its response, but Michigan showed poor sportsmanship in planting the flag.

Again I am not defending OSU’s response. It is indefensible. However I am glad that the coach of my alma mater would never put up with that disrespect. I hope that when he retires (at some point) that his replacement doesn’t put up with that conduct.

Great, so because other teams lack a modicum of sportsmanship people should be okay with it? I am not defending the retaliation. But Michigan has beaten OSU the last 4 years they should act like they have been there, and not a bunch of poor sports.

I wanted Michigan to win, but planting the flag in the opposing teams field is extremely poor sportsmanship. I would be mortified if the Hawkeyes ever did that.
