The bracket system and gamechanger system also gives people a more concrete way to discuss the types of games they want to play and Wizards (Gavin) said they had very positive feedback from the survey at MCC. It's still a great card, people can just play around it more or have a R0 power level talk.

The idea is that modern EDH is much more developed format than it was 15 years ago. Decks (and cards on a whole) are a lot more powerful now than they used to be. Counter magic and removal is more common and folks have just gotten better at building decks than they were.

The tutoring in particular is what makes it so much more powerful than the similar fact or fiction.

4 card tutor for 4 with all 4 cards put into play (graveyard or hand instead of top of librsry). It's very easy to play cards from the graveyard so gifts makes assembling combos very easy.
