“Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and redeem the soul of America.” Democrats - where’d you go?

Under Article II of the Constitution Congress should require All Presidential appointments to be approved by the Senate.

For Hamilton, Lodging in the Senate the power to then confirm the President’s nominee would “be an excellent check” on evils that might arise from an appointment power vested only in the President.

Alexander Hamilton argued that “the true test of a good government is its aptitude and tendency to produce a good administration.” Producing “good administration,” argued required an appointment method that would “promote a judicious choice” in federal office holders.

I think Oregon should secede and become a protectorate of Denmark

How can it be that the Supreme Court says we must interpret the Constitution as people understood it in 1789, but the President says he is King? I’m pretty sure in 1789 people understood we had no king.

@tribelaw.bsky.social when DOGE says it is cancelling contracts and leases isn’t the government liable for breach of contract (albeit in the Court of Claims)? Seems like an easy way to learn about DOGE in discovery.

@mcuban.bsky.social let’s suppose that a few of you wealthier folks got together and created a fund. It could be used for one purpose - to print prepaid envelopes to Congress members who do not share our views. They get inundated with paper not easily managed and the USPS gets a boost.

And now, a little Shakespeare: Be stirring as the time; be fire with fire; Threaten the threatener and outface the brow Of bragging horror

Defend the Country. Defund the White House.

Even if they like what is happening, Republicans should admit the President is not faithfully executing the laws of the United States. If it is so good, state it for what it is. Otherwise, their desire for power is no less contemptuous than his.
