Italian anti-fascists. Brave young people

Boats are highly important in Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age belief. There are numerous depictions of the sun boat guided by water birds, but this is special: Seven of originally >100 gold foil ships found in 1885 near a grave mound at Nors, Denmark. National Museum Copenhagen. #Archaeology

@emmagee.bsky.social Rashford is good tonight. Hope you keep him. Tough game, but you can do it xx

I had been without hot water since Friday. It could have been a a late Lenten penance if deliberate. I’m too old for cold baths though, and I found it all a bit of a nightmare. Heat has been restored today, but it makes you realise how much we in the affluent world take for granted

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. Just some basic fact-checking would be nice. Anyway, I wrote about Eostre here: florencehrs.substack.com/p/eostre-pag...

I always look forward to funerals too. Good times.

I was bought up Catholic, but left the Church in my twenties. However I did have respect for Pope Francis. He spoke with wisdom and humanity at a time in which humanity is in profound crisis. In the midst of madness, he spoke of love. He wasn’t perfect, problems remained, but I was comforted by him

We will get to the playoffs, but we are in no way ready to be in the PL. Better today, but… #Safc

“Never have we so hurt and mistreated our common home as we have in the last two hundred years. Reducing greenhouse gases requires honesty, courage and responsibility. Those who will have to suffer the consequences will not forget this failure of conscience and responsibility.” — Pope Francis

RIP Pope Francis. Obviously, a lot of problems with the Church still remain, but he did feel like one of the few global leaders left still trying to contribute some good to the world rather than ransack it.

Happy Easter! The picture shows a pysanka, a Ukrainian Easter egg, a present from cherished #Ukrainian colleagues. The traditional egg-decorating method employs layers of wax and dye to produce a distinctive pattern. Slava Ukraini!

I’d love to see Leicester win this #LeicestervLiverpool
