Lewis-Skelly is like Dembele in how players just hang off him when he’s on the ball. He just won’t be knocked off stride, even by grown men. Add the fact he’s got superb close control, low centre of gravity to be able to twist, turn, shift away from pressure and that is a press resistant footballer

www.instagram.com/reel/DDU6CdE... ‘The Jamie Gittens Goal’ Let’s make this your goal. Now let’s do the work…don’t chase the results, work on the process, and the results will come from that. And the results are coming…

A piece on the rise of Jamie Gittens. Unterschiedsspieler. @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/595...

You think it’s a coincidence Jamie has scored this goal many times this season? He’s working on it. We call it ‘The Jamie Gittens Goal’ for a reason. We spoke to him and said this is the Ballon D’Or. Let’s work to make it known as ‘The Jamie Gittens Goal’.

We work to replicate in game. This is the goal Jamie just scored. This one doesn’t go in, but it’s the approach we worked on. Crowded box, me and my colleague in the way, use us a wall to finish around. Game realism. This one didn’t go in, the one in the game just now did…

Here we go again ⚽️✈️🇩🇪

Brennan Johnson showing once again what a superb and varied finisher he is. Once he’s put in a position to finish, I back him. His issue is being able to create his own shooting opportunities.

Roma are doing really well to funnel Spurs outside when spurs are building through the first phase, and block spurs access back in centrally, so you’re seeing lots of channel balls into no one from Porro etc

Chukwuemeka If he gets consistent minutes, he will show himself to be one of the best midfielders in the league. His comfort with the ball at his feet, alongside the power, balance. When he’s carrying the ball, it can be like a grown man against kids. Wonderful talent that can do so much

‘The Jamie Gittens Goal’ A lot of work has gone into making this a trademark goal of Jamie’s, for me, the most important goal to have locked in if you want to be the best player in the world as a wide forward. It takes a lot of work to make yourself undeniable, but he’s doing it.

Make sure you listen to the latest and always amazing @jlafc.bsky.social podcast I was on with the legend Glenn Murray, where we discussed Leicester’s plans, Spurs, and two ways I believe you could potentially get the better of Van Dijk…⚽️🎙️

Saka needs to do more things like the goal he’s just scored. There is so much incredible quality. If he plays with more “fuck you”, then moments like that will become more and more regular. He sticks to the script too much, but players like him, with his ability, should play off script.

Brilliant. Fucking brilliant. And it really isn’t rocket science, they’ve just taken the time to think about what best develops players, but more importantly, prioritise being human beings with empathy and understanding. Didn’t know Real Sociedad did this, but they now have a new fan ❤️

Dragusin is a good box defender who cuts out crosses and cut backs well, defends front post runs well and is trust more than any CB at the club to deal with Haaland inside the box. The issue is on the ball, and for most games right now, Id be more than tempted to play Gray instead. Not tomorrow.

There isn’t one is the honest answer. I believe every professional footballer, as the bare minimum, should be at ease with the ball though. Able to manipulate it in any direction, any surface of the foot, both feet. Move the ball, move the body as one. So many scarily lack that.

If the club fired Ange this season, it would be insanity. Whatever happens, the squad will be in a better place when Ange leaves it due to his principles. And less than 18 months in. What did people want? Long term success needs long term work. Show me a case that wasn’t true.

I think midfield is the strongest part of the squad in terms of depth and variety. There’s tonnes you can do. Bissouma or Gray as more of a lone pivot More of a double pivot from a collection of potential partnerships Bissouma & Sarr Bissouma & Gray Gray & Sarr Gray & Maddison Etc.

No idea if this is yet the kind of app for this thing, but it seems you can actually have discourse which is great. Q+A

There’s a reason Gyokeres scores a lot of scruffy goals. Relentless positivity. He will force the ball in the back of the net. He doesn’t take time to care about how it looks, doesn’t care about it being elegant, he just hits it early and does it.

Another lovely finish from Brennan Johnson. I have so much confidence in him to put the ball in the back of the net when he gets into those areas. What he needs to work on is the ability to get the ball into those areas from his own work. He does that to a good level, he becomes one of the best.

Marmoush is the real deal. He has that confidence about his quality that when he gets into certain zones, he will make the right decision and do so with quality. Has so much variety to his threat in where and how he can produce from. IQ, technical prowess, power and crucially, he knows he’s the boss
