There is a point in pretty much every Reacher book where Reacher kicks in somebody's knee and I'm not saying he should do that to some politicians... but I'm not saying he shouldn't do that.

My new hobby is watching Canadians boo the US anthem at ice hockey games.

WILL YOU PEOPLE JUST GO TO A FREAKING LIBRARY. DAMN. HOW IS IT LEARNING IF THE ANSWERS ARE WRONG GAAAAAAAH

JUST IN: ICE van reportedly set on fire in Philadelphia

I need someone to come up with an estimated number of how many jobs have been lost across departments, because all I heard from people leading up to the election was that Donald Trump cared about protecting American jobs.

Every union should be echoing this statement.

Kids book in general, but kids nonfiction, man, so many great choices in so many different styles.

Tommy Tuberville blocked military promotions for months while his party was in the minority and he can’t read or write

Listen. This is when finally do a student loan strike. There's no way they're going to have the manpower to track us all down.

I'm a tiny bit curious what they thought nuclear staff *did* do.

Hey, everyone, what are your favorite Switch games?

looking back, AOL had it right. 30 hours of internet per month was the right amount.

It's such a stupid gag, but man, it makes me laugh every single time.

Remember, labor unions were the negotiated compromise to blowing up factories with dynamite

the left can accurately be defined as people who have made fun of me online. here’s why they’re responsible for everything going wrong

My new favorite thing is to leave a comment on political and/or religious Facebook posts and then turn off the notifications for that post so I never see it again. I've said what I needed to say, argue with yourself about it. It makes me feel a tiny bit better.

the thing they don't understand about forcibly taking over cultural institutions is that it will not make people love them or their sad excuse for a culture the actual creators will simply take their talents elsewhere and the institutions will crumble behind them

Not even the best satire writer in the world could have come up with “Red, White, and Blueland”

I don’t know about y’all, but I’m starting to think the only thing that kept the planes from crashing before was diversity.

Good morning!

Tried to find the clip from The Great Escape where Ramsey explains that it's every officer's duty to attempt to escape, harass, and waste as much enemy time/attention/resources as possible. Couldn't find it. :( But I watched some other clips and dang, Charles Bronson was hot as heck in that movie.

Heather's Facebook update: People are starting to realize UAB, one of the largest employers and healtcare providers in Birmingham, will lose an estimated 40 million dollars in NIH funding. Also, everyone hated the halftime show.

highlights from just one minute of the philly police scanner: “just check that roof and make sure it’s not on fire” “i’m pretty much the only one out here, i lost the intersection. they’re on the trash truck” “can anyone stop this car in the middle of everyone?

🎶 Heather's not paying her loans back 🎶

Ryan Miller shutout!

I knew my student loans were already forgiven because Christ has paid it all for me by his blood, but it was nice for Trump to decide theres no part of the government collecting student loans anymore.

Our system is very good about this too! At the time I was out of patron purchase suggestions *and* staff purchase suggestions, and I just didn't want to wait. 😂🤷

Since we're taking about libraries today, friendly reminder that if you want to read a book that our system doesn't own, we'll do our darnedest to get it somewhere else. This book I'm reading right now is from a small college library in Michigan.

The NIH stuff seems to be breaking through with Republican friends and family a bit largely because Birmingham's university hospital is a huge local employer and Auburn is an R1 research institute.

Public libraries! Some of them even have cafés now although the beauty of libraries is that you don't have to buy anything to exist there. (But yeah, hours may vary. We're fortunate to have some branches open until 8 or 9 in our system.)

Gotham City gotta be nuts because why were 80% of the villains created by LOOSE ACID? You don’t need Batman, YOU NEED OSHA.

I'm usually pretty chill with Buffalo winters, but this ice needs to get the heck outta here, I swear.

Listen, we were all young and stupid once. You can’t judge someone for the thoughtless and provocative posts they made all the way back in September and December of 2024. It was a different time back then.

Oops 😬

Congratulations in advance to a DVD of Blue Bloods season 5

JD Vance will really be like "you believe in loving thy neighbor? That pales in comparison to my strategy, loving my family first" and then not love his family.

Courage can become contagious.

This is *so* cool.

Once again, way too many people appear to have forgotten that the reason strikes and labour laws exist is not because workers need to be coddled but because they were the less messy alternative to the factory owner getting burnt alive inside his home by the workers

Evangelicals don't think Catholics are real Christians.

I personally cannot understand this at all, but I do have a lot of Republican friends and family who absolutely cannot/will not extrapolate from people they personally know to a wider community. It's weird.

If the Department of Education goes down, I have no intention of ever paying my student loans. They can bite me.

"They invent whole stories and then the polling follows" is right on, thank the Lord.
