For 65 years, this little patch was a lawn. Three winters ago, I killed it and planted natives. I watered it the first summer and haven't put a drop on it since, except when introducing a new plant. I can't wait to keep planting it in. #killyourlawn #plantnatives #gardening #droughttolerant

My message to universities, law firms, media outlets, technology companies, agribusiness, retailers, and Congress: No deal. Paul Weiss, Columbia, Amazon, Meta: you're not making deals, you're caving to an extortion racket. I'll vote, buy, boycott, and advocate accordingly.

I've returned recently to watching #PBSNewshour and am so heartened to find it excellent, sane and occasionally even ennobling. It also slowed my busy brain and brought my empathy to bear on the news of the day.
