Having grown up in that Church, you’re 100% right. They’re just saying the quiet part loudly. Some may honestly be so brainwashed they can’t see that what they’re doing is wrong. The church really takes the small sliver of cognitive dissonance we’re born with and just prys it open until it’s a chasm
