The courts can & should keep ruling against this wildly illegal authoritarianism. But we're already seeing that Trump is not complying with the courts. The only actual fix for this is impeachment & removal. And there is ~no chance of that happening. It is a total failure of the constitutional order.

We wrote this piece partly in response to RFK and Dr Oz claiming that "work requirements work." That is flat out wrong. It is also appalling that two people charged with protecting the health of Americans would engage in such a misleading claim. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/what-we-wr...

Exactly what I was thinking. It's nice if our political mavericks can express themselves well, but do they have to be actual entertainers? I'd like someone sharp, unflappable, and without any BS, like a really good math teacher...only political.

Whether you think Biden trying to run/Dems waited too long was bad is ultimately irrelevant. There was a Democratic Convention in August 2024, & the party chose Kamala Harris as its nominee. The GOP chose the fascist with dementia. And he's doing the fascism & showing signs of dementia again now.

827. That was the highest mine ever got to, and you are right, I didn't need it, so I stopped worrying about the little things that might lower my credit score. Still, I pay my bills on time. Always. And I keep my oldest card active. That's the key! (Typos forgiven.)

If all the money Trump threw at his illegal deportation/rendition program — including paying El Salvador to imprison people — was redirected to shoring up immigration courts, it would actually accomplish what most voters say they want, which is a more orderly and fair immigration system.

Unless you really don’t beed a credit score of 827!

If you can discipline yourself to charge regularly but minimally on that first credit card you’re offered, and you pay off the little balance every month, after a year or two the offers start flooding in. It’s a game! But you can’t charge too near your limit. Credit score will go up, too.

Some scientists — especially early career — may need to keep their focus on their research. But those of us with the privilege of tenure and visibility should be standing up, speaking out, and helping the public understand that the future of US science, public health, and innovation is on the line.
