Who the hell is Frank Raw? And why? A short answer: Poor Frank Raw www.poorfrankraw.co.uk/blog/introdu... #FrankRaw #PoorFrankRaw #lettering

Could I order a Blue Plaque please for Louvain Rees for services to History and telling GB News to go fuck themselves.

I've just declined a media request to speak to Portillo about St David’s Day on GB News. A lot of people say any publicity is good publicity, but GB News doesn't align with my values.

Can anyone recommend places in Durham to visit? Visiting for the first time in a few weeks and looking for some inspiration 🌞 #Durham #History

Such an important point. Small actions of solidarity are not meaningless. In my book, I write about the first resistance action Rosine Witton took: selling portraits of de Gaulle from her café-tabac. It was a transaction between neighbors that allowed them a glimpse of the flame in each other.

I received this flippin' lovely horse guising folk zine, purchased from @6knifes.bsky.social. Horse..!

New website for irishgenealogy.ie has launched! #Genealogy May do a video walking through the site in how it now looks. (And operates)

Another day, another workhouse 📚

I loved this! It is also interesting to see that it was filmed at Ewenny Priory, Merthyr Mawr House, and the Covid Hospital in Bridgend!

It's #MHNursesDay 🧠 Here is one of the earliest photographs of the nurses at Glamorgan County Lunatic Asylum in 1887. These nurses were among the first mental health nurses in South Wales. #Wales #histmed

Men fighting pumas! Brutal prize-fights in chapels! Lady Boxers! Such a huge privilege to be invited onto BBC History Extra 🥊🙏🏻 You can probably tell, I was very nervous. Haven't done many podcasts before. Just a wrestling thing and a quick bit on parakeets. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/b...

An early Friday Murder as it’s half term and I am going aht Also the first paywalled newsletter. So you’ll get the outline but not the analysis! This week, Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, December 1875

As @oispooky.bsky.social and I were discussing yesterday…

Cockled to the rear of a pub called The Nag’s Head in Shrewsbury, clinging to its newer counterpart like the last leaf on a winter branch, are the remains of Gibbon's Mansion.

At St Ellyw's, Llanelieu there are trace remains of a late medieval wall painting that once depicted Adam and Eve. Unlike most religious imagery, depictions of Adam and Eve continued to be created after the Reformation.

My niece is four years old next week. As a joke, I said I'd dress up as Pascal from Tangled for her birthday party. Turns out that she has a very good memory, and she's reminded me to dress up as him.

Apropos of absolutely nothing, a commemorative Welsh mug on the occasion of the beheading of Louis XVI

Sometimes, when working on a building, we can’t resist stepping inside. At St. Boniface in Bunbury is the tomb of Sir George Beeston – a man who they say lived across 3 centuries. Born in 1499 -living until 1601. He commanded the Dreadnought against the Spanish Armada at the age of 89. Surely not!?🤔

When on Ynys Môn/Angelsey.. It would have been rude not to stop yesterday at the evocative Neolithic chambered tomb at Bryn Celli Ddu, with its dark passageway, cylindrical tomb guardian & ledges of modern offerings

The south porch at Rayleigh, Essex of about 1500, the red brick familiar from many a building of the time in the county. #AdoorableThursday

The bone crypt of Rothwell Holy Trinity Church dates to early 13thC and stored bones dug up to make new graves. Charnels stopped being used in England post reformation and were sealed or emptied. It was rediscovered in 1700 when a gravedigger ‘suddenly found himself precipitated into a dark abyss.’

I've been to clinic today. Looks like I'm one of the many women who have been misdiagnosed as BPD/BiPolar when, in fact, I have ADHD. Feels like a giant weight has been lifted.
