We need a Snappy hashtag that people can use to tag post about the conference... Please reply with ideas...
Also note we have a system of Wristbands to designate the people who are OK with Photographs and those who are not, so please respect those who do not wish to appear...

Don't worry as a total non academic I'll be completely out of my depth, and you'll probably see me running around like a chicken making sure it all goes to plan...

It didn’t as the same sex marriage legislation came in place later, hence the need for trans people to dissolve existing unions and the spouses veto on the granting of a GRC.

I believe a cis woman and a trans woman did attempt to get married before the GRA and they were denied, they took it to court and I think the court agreed that they couldn’t because it was effectively a same sex marriage even though technically it wasn’t.

I think it's all air conditioned but I'll double check

Funny thing is that when I started working at the Telegraph in 2001 I outed myself to HR as trans, because pre GRA I had a male birth certificate. I was never excluded from the womens toilets or gym changing room, I'd love to see what it would be if I was still there.

I will personally guarantee your safety at the @networkgender.bsky.social conference. If there is any hassle from KCL I will raise hell, and I'm in charge of paying the bills...

The world I came out in nearly 30 years ago was hostile and coming out cost me nearly everything I had. But I did it anyway, and let me tell you, it was the best thing I ever did.
To be honest, I knew then that my rights would be affected by coming out. The alternative was not go good outcome.

It's time to build a new Parliament building outside of London, keep Westminster for ceremonies, etc. While we're at it introduce an elected upper house, electronic voting, and bring some decorum instead of the shouting, baying mob we currently have

My 1st pride was in 1998 in Brighton. It was overwhelming to see so many LGBTQ folk in one place... I've marched in many Prides since, Carrying the banner for Trans Rights in the 00s. Helping to launch the 1st ever pride march on the island of La Palma in the Canaries.

Absolutely there are virtually no full time trans activists, we all have day jobs and responsibilities that we have to contend with.

Me too... I tend to spend my nights crashed in front of YouTube... I have things i'd love to do of an evening, but I'm just so spent that I can't bring myself to do things

It takes me mere days to obtain a court order to locate any person via their IP address, an order I myself made on numerous occasions when a judge. Think before you post, you are never anonymous to the Law.

Can I also add the one that got away, I was on Unbound and was 33% funded when I was unceremoniously dropped... looking for an agent or new publisher...

Couple with this that once my commissioning editor left I was cast adrift with little to no engagement from unbound. Not even a simple RT or share from their SM team, it was like they didn't even want to acknowledge my existence, yet they plugged others no stop.

It clearly didn't work because I slogged away for 2+ years during the pandemic ( I had hoped to do a lot of in pitches at events ) and only managed 33% funding. Also the whole process of setting it up was shambolic and it would have been much better given the events to have delayed launch.
