She stated her reason was “disagreement with management,” whatever that means.

The fact that it’s hard to know says more than enough.

Yeah, it’s not that the moderation in and of itself is bad. Honestly, it’s good Bluesky does stuff, because stars know there’s no moderation on Twitter. But they’re over-enforcing the rules to be different from their competition, and it shows. Not a good look.

The harsh reality is that it’s normalized. Violence is “normal” in western culture while sex is not. This comes from the fundamentalist puritanical values that Christianity forced on western culture for hundreds of years.

Just speaking facts.

I don’t know why people keep saying there’s no algorithm here. There is. The posts you interact with and your personal inputs it dictates the algorithm, but it’s still an algorithm.

At the end of the day, I don't think it would have changed much. People - particularly in the US - like being indoors, in a climate controlled room. Even if the advice was to go out more, I don't think people would have heeded it.

I'm sorry for you and your sisters woes. We all go through struggles. But how is this related to the discussion at hand, which is about voting and/or refusing to vote in elections? Are you baselining ketamine again?

With regards to "The Dems could destroy the Republican party," obviously not. With regards to an egalitarian society, The Dems don't want that, as they are capitalist ghouls. And I understand it's hyperbole, but no, this couldn't be done overnight.

You said, specifically, that you've been voting since the 90s and "nothing has changed." Ignoring the legalization of gay marriage, ignoring healthcare for tens of millions, ignoring legalized pathways of immigration. What this means is, succinctly, you are being a bit silly, mate.

Me: tankies are perfectionists who throw tantrums like children. Tankie: *demands perfection and throws tantrum* Me: Yeah, exactly like that. Tankie: *screeches, rages, blocks*

I’ve read theory. Good praxis. I prefer action. Also, reading your handle, trans rights are human rights.🏳️‍⚧️ Continuing to read your handle, yes, your egotistical and self-centered reaction to milquetoast criticism is indeed a bit scummy.

Speaking to other leftists candidly and insisting that they are more interested in being ideologically correct than achieving actual change in the world is valid criticism. Critiquing one’s ideology when its members are doing something dumb is good.

That was a fun read. Definitely gives a lot to chew on. The bit about victimhood is especially funny. The post I made that spawned so much criticism wasn’t even spicy. Just, “hey, some leftists are snooty,” and it’s hilarious how many were upset by this.

Most everything is better than liberalism. That’s not much of a statement. I’m also not acting superior than you. I’m candidly speaking you and calling out the poor views you yourself are espousing. I’m greatly open to critique if the criticism is constructive. You, clearly, are not. That’s okay.

Tell that to LGBT folk. Guess they don’t matter.
comment in response to post
Do you not hear yourself? You’re claiming the way you view the world - a view we both share - is more correct strictly from your perspective. And when called out on this, you claim you’re smarter than the other person. You’re literally self-reporting, and that’s just kind of sad.
comment in response to post
Exactly. There are awesome things about a motivated leftist. But so many are brain-rotted on meme-posting and slacktivism rather than making change in the real world that they don’t even realize how silly they are being.
comment in response to post
It’s not. Wanting all that and then refusing to vote is.
comment in response to post
Isn’t it more arrogant to claim everyone but yourself is right?
comment in response to post
The fact that, even in my reply thread, you can find a pompous tankie calling a fellow leftist a nazi because they called out his moronic praxis says so much.

The left also has a perfectionist problem. If you are not constantly the best human ever on earth, at all times, you don’t belong at all.

Also, hey, my personal deadline for this quest was Jan 1, 2025. Ahead of schedule by 3 months. Can't fault the commitment!

After that, I'll have to begin a new, equally confusing adventure of potentially finding an agent, and seeing if anyone wants to read my nonsense. There's always another mountain to summit.

The next step is to go back to book 1 and make some worldbuilding/lore changes. As it turns out, 2 books and 2 years later, your thoughts on what happened in the first bit of the series have likely changed!
comment in response to post
It was a fulfilling experience to be sure. I love what I made. I think it's sincerely good. Maybe not traditionally, but I honestly think (or at least hope) other people would like it too. Writing 3 books in an unpublished series is an oddball choice. But I'm glad that's the path I took.

Honestly, I don't think they HAVE a plan. The goal is to just get people on the platform and figure it out later.

Probably a bit of both. I like Twitter a lot, but that block change is insanely stupid.

The fact that Threads is so high is a travesty. I know it’s because of their ease of sign up. But I can’t imagine that place being anything other than a post-apocalyptic landscape.

Japanese vtubers vs western vtubers. Champagne vs shampagny.

I think it’s just recency bias. Everyone is here right now, so naturally more interaction is happening. Also means a fork in the road. Either people keep using this app or go back to Twitter. Which happens remains to be seen.

The fact that I was actually quite happy using Twitter and still found reason to come here should say a lot.
