Because the DOJ and ICE have admitted that this was an error - a) it could cause a review of everyone who was detained b) will win this guy a lot of money c) will be talked about in media for a while, every interview with him d) mess up the narrative

Theyā€™re fighting so a) they can avoid the civil lawsuit and b) once the media get their hands on him - this will be the headline for months.

MAGA will say during Biden. Hypothetically, with the proper comms array in place, the president does not *need* to be at the WH. He could be on Air Force 1 or in a secure bunker for 4 yrs & it be the same thing. But there is a difference in Biden being 3 hrs drive away in DE vs 5 states away

Exactly. Even the stuff we can get here wonā€™t last and will go up as demand does

Most of us Americans (at least those with more than 2 brain cells to rub together) know this to be true. Unfortunately the clown in control canā€™t seem to understand this, and his cult just follows.

This chucklefuck is going to kill small businesses. My suppliers are already telling me to expect 10-100% up charges depending on country of origin. Stuff I import directly comes with a tariff bill. Iā€™m seriously considering just shuttering down at this point
comment in response to post
My business is about to be crippled - the custom print industry brings in almost everything from overseas and we are looking at between 10% and now 104% tariffs on everything. Several of my industry friends (including myself) are considering changes in occupations. I probably will be closed EOY

Iā€™m doing this with my company - I thought about calling it a Trump Tax, but I might save that for later

But according to our governor, Ohio is welcoming to LGBT folks

No - the corruption is because he changed the reason for giving the check publicly, all 7 judges at the state Supreme Court refused to be bothered to hear the case

Could be worse - Iā€™m from Ohio. JD ā€œtemu emo donā€™t carebearā€ Vance, Jim ā€œ subpoenas are for losersā€ Jordan, Bernie ā€œused car magaā€ Moreno, John ā€œthey sent me to DC because Iā€™m not maga enough to be governorā€ Husted, ā€œDo nothingā€ Dave Joyce. And only the superfecta in DC. The state level is worse

I wish they would stop calling it a correction (yes I get itā€™s the technical term) but it gives Trump an out for his behavior - just like Bessent is doing here. ā€œOh corrections are normalā€

@schumer.senate.gov - did you think maybe you had a shot to reign in the circus but blew it? Of course you donā€™tā€¦ time to step aside as leader. A ā€œwartimeā€ leader you clearly are not.

Considering that by the time the primary rolls around, all the KY citizens on Medicaid and SS will be cut off, I donā€™t see that happening

Isnā€™t market manipulation a crime? Not that it matters with the grifter in chief.

Considering there has only been 1 time that Article 5 of the NATO treaty has been invoked in the history of the organization - and it was by America, I would say itā€™s in America best interest

The thing I don't get is he admitted in the Oval Office that he was going to make mistakes and then "fix them quickly". Any logical person (I know) would idk take their time to make sure that they get it right. But then again- we are talking about a man who is lining his pockets as fast as he can.

She is supposedly meeting with NYC officials today after all the deputy mayors threatened to resign. Based on her comments announcing the meeting, I think they are meeting to get ducks in a row to remove him as to not destabilize NYC government

They all ready are. Healthcare is controlled by the insurance companies. They have gutted public education for decades. Retirement is a scam at this point because Cost of Living keeps going up.

Hearing some of the reporting from todays hearing, while I get that preemptive relief is not a thing, the fact we live in unprecedented times makes the courts need to act even more important

So we are supposed to believe that a guy going around claiming to everyone that he is in charge of DOGE, isn't? That everyone so far connected to DOGE just so happens to have a musk connection is just coincidence? That the FFOTUS has said that he is in charge of DOGE, apparently now isn't? Right.

Oh good more blue dots in this red county. That makes me think there is hope for Geauga yet

@petebuttigieg.bsky.social - you should totally be the face of rational though. Loved the way you presented the case during the election cycle!!

The fact that this man got lucky to be President at all is beyond me - he has never gotten a majority of the popular vote in either term. More people have voted against him in 3 elections than voted for him.
comment in response to post
Wow this guy is a bootlicker for sure. First off - I wish they would give up this mandate crap. More people voted for someone else over Trump. The margin between the 2 was the smallest in history. Also, the only thing heā€™s leading the US to is isolationism and ruin.

I will agree that so many Dems have been in this all or nothing camp for so long that it boggles the mind. I talked to friends who were anti-Harris because of this issue or that issue and it got tiring trying to say ā€œsometimes 1 step ahead is better than backā€, but they voted otherwise or didnā€™t.

I mean Iā€™d say color me shocked that a paper owned by a tech bro wouldnā€™t let an ad attacking one of them into the paper, but that would be a lie. The WaPo (along with much of legacy media) showed true colors during the election. The 1% only want citizens for the meat grinder that is ā€œcapitalismā€
comment in response to post
Anything. Here you have the Dems complaining more about the fact that people are calling legislators vs them doing anything. They should be screaming @ top of their lungs, stopping everything, getting arrested trying to go into DOGE held facilities, but they donā€™t

While this is a nice idea - the Repubs will just do like they have done in states, change the rules and vote without quorum. ā€œRules for thee but not for meā€

Try again - you and the other old guard dems are why we are in this position. There should be no negotiating with terrorists, nazis, or felons. Grow a pair, do your job, or get out of the way.

And then he tried to get OH Gov. to give him Vanceā€™s seat only to get rebuffed and now he thinks Ohio voters will vote for him for governor - oh thatā€™s almost Caucasian level rich man audacity

I also hate to say it - but we got to get through world war 3 before we can get to the Roddenberry promised land.

Iā€™ve been so tired of the ā€œwhen they go low, we go highā€ bs from the establishment. I do fault Biden for not being more aggressive on pushing Garland, or even blindly accepting the election. Itā€™s time for the old guard to move on because they are the reason we are here.

He probably wants to replace Jefferson or Lincoln with himself in their monuments. Either that or put up a golden statue of him in the front lawn of the White House

Actually why should we make the cap $1bn? Why not 25 million? If someone canā€™t live on 25 mil a year shame on them. CEOs make 344x the average worker, for what? 1978-2022, CEOs saw a 1209% increase in pay, versus 15.3% for employees.

Youā€™re right - we need to eliminate the loopholes - no more stocks in lieu of cash, no more borrowing against stock. Nip generational mega wealth in the bud.
