In case you need a little bit of good news in your feed this morning. It’s all too rare these days, but as Mr. Rogers said, “look for the helpers.”

This is pure evil.

It’s an alarming thought, but by this administration’s logic, places like HBCUs and gay bars might be considered “discriminatory.” The war on DEI could be used to eliminate safe spaces for any marginalized groups. Sadly, I know plenty of “Christians” who would have zero problem with this.

It’s so important for people to realize that authoritarianism in America will look like this, not like a police state with martial law and people disappearing into prisons. It will be a dispirited opposition that people are afraid of supporting, bc otherwise they’ll get in trouble.

Too many Christians are ready to call out “lies” when it comes to trans ppl’s very existence. We should instead push back against the actual lie that trans ppl don’t deserve to be treated with dignity & respect. They are our neighbors, created in the image of God. Jesus commands us to love them.

As @democrats.org, we need to be clear that we support efficient government and rooting out waste, but that there are some major problems with DOGE. 1. Musk’s legal authority to make sweeping cuts to spending is dubious at best. Our constitution gives congress the power of the purse. 🧵 1/4

the single most un-american and anti-constitutional statement ever uttered by an american president

A whole lot of people who told me they couldn’t vote for Harris because she is “pro-abortion” seem pretty unbothered by the fact that every Republican Senator but one just voted to confirm a pro-choice HHS nominee appointed by a Republican president

I personally will continue to use "Gulf of Mexico" because our president is a wrathful felonious nincompoop with the intellect of paramecium and I do not consent to his cartographic buffoonery

So far in the last 24 hours, Russia's gotten: - a sympathetic ear/voice installed as DNI - the release of a crime boss - Hegseth ceding Crimea to them - Trump offering a WH visit - The US acting as middleman rather than Ukraine ally

Growing up, I was told that the demise of Christianity would be caused by our country rejecting God. Now I believe it is actually caused by Christians blatantly rejecting the teachings of Jesus for the sake of political power.

I tried to find things to like about it, but that was honestly the most unimpressive halftime show in years

judges famously lack any authority over attorneys

Saw this coming a mile away. SCOTUS empowered the president to break the law as long as it is an “official act,” so it’s logically implied he can defy judicial rulings as long as it’s an “official act.” I wonder if any justices are bothered by the fact they voted to neuter the courts.

Neither the mainstream press nor our political system seem to have digested the fact that the U.S. president is trying to illegally annex a NATO ally using economic coercion.

Reminder that Trump can commit virtually any crime as president right now and be protected by the Supreme Court's immunity decision. No incentive to follow the law - he can openly tell people to violate it and promise to pardon them from federal charges.

I am very much in favor of merit-based hiring and high standards for jobs with life and death implications. Which is why I oppose confirming Pete Hegseth, RFK JR, Tulsi Gabbard, and Kash Patel.

It can feel overwhelming for an individual in these times wondering "what can I do?" The first thing is to realize that it is not up to us individually to fix everything. We do not have the power, the skills, or the expertise. What we can do is to find small ways to become active. It isn't one

If it ain’t broke break it then say you kinda fixed it, maybe, til you say whatever you say next

America First!* … *but only if you live in a red state

Christianity without integrity (2016) Christianity without truth (2020) Christianity without mercy (2024)

Finally got my data archive from the Bad Place and deactivated my account

I’m gonna call it right now, NYC Mayor Eric Adams is going to switch parties, probably within the next year. This is because the Republican Party is amoral, and they’ll naturally welcome him with open arms and portray him as a victim. It’s a feature, not a bug.

Trump pardons J6 criminals, Elon has his soft launch as a Nazi, and new evidence Hegseth abused his wife. I forgot was drinking from a firehose of sludge when I look at the news felt like, but it’s starting to come back to me.

All these women who turned in January 6 terrorists are in danger tonight

I have some personal news to share on this Inauguration Day. 🇺🇸 🧵 After the elections of 2018, 2020, and 2022, I had hoped that we might be able to look back on 2016 as a fluke, an anomaly in our history in which Trump won on a technicality against another unpopular candidate.
