For others asking, pretty sure he’s talking about 18F not Direct File. FWIW, they’re not dead yet - and hopefully it’ll just be a re-org/re-brand. But who knows with GSA being told to cut 50% of its budget.
Disheartening that GSA(?) deleted @GSA_TTS and @18F twitter accounts, tho. 😣

Has he actually been *appointed* to/as anything? He showed up at GSA sans badge and the security guards just let them through because they don’t want trouble. But I’m not convinced any of these people are actually employed or have any power.
