I also really appreciate the Encyclopedia and look forward to an updated one hopefully dropping next year so they can include as much THR material as possible! But some of those missing character portraits…mm. Art of Vol.2 will hopefully at least partially solve that problem.

Update, Star Wars has officially released an hour-long repeat of the Niamos remix as it appeared in Episode 3 over repeating clips of Mon dancing! Another step toward releasing the song on its own! www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6wL...

We don’t know how or what triggers her departure, what is the final straw. It could be that she goes to that big feast on Dalna, and announces she’s leaving, this is her last day as a Jedi, or something is said or happens at the feast to make up her mind and have her leave.

I found the payoff of a story Cavan seeded back in Dooku: Jedi Lost to be excellent, and it was also intriguing to just see such a strange creature which could be divided, and then reunited. Drewen is also fun, and the ending of this comic set me up to hope we'd see more of the two soon.

Ah darn, I had been waffling back and forth on whether this was something official or was fan made since so many composers/musicians for SW shows post their material to their own socials, profiles, channels etc. . Still a good job by them! It really closely mirrors the show's track.

While Lucasfilm hasn't yet, the creator seems to have done so on his own: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E7g...

And that’s how they getcha. I will note, I’ve convinced a family member to read THR and they’ve only been engaging with the adult and YA novels with one or two comics thrown in for visuals. They’ve followed along very well considering they’re new to SW literature.

I believe it is written that way because it is meant to be a Holocron recording of, probably, Avar Kriss. She stated the same greeting "Hello Seeker" in The Rise of Kylo Ren when Hennix opened a holocron (this was one of many seeds hinting to THR before the official announcement).

I’m personally 95% sure. Several details from across Phase 3 point to her eventually breaking from the Order, as does the Yoda miniseries Cavan partly wrote where she appears in a vision by Yoda as someone that the Jedi, if not himself, failed.

Great introduction of the Grafs into the era in opposition to the San Tekkas, and then THR beginning to touch on the "boom and bust" frontier town background which comes up a bit in Phase 2, and in other stories down the line. As for characters, love Reath, Vern, so many others! Xylan intro is 👍!

I think it’s moreso a link to Luthen and his interests/abilities as an antiquities dealer. We got a Rakatan mention in S1, and I get the sense even if Davos Sculdun is terrible, his money financing the return of art stolen by an empire, to Chandrila, has ironies Luthen would enjoy/embrace.

Dead Loden pretty much solidifies this story as a must read, other visuals are great, like near the end when the Nameless show up. I liked learning about Uttersond, and establishing the lullaby/subconscious words that emerge in Phase 2. Also, recently got reminded of it but, Torban’s abs. Nice.

That Depa thing is fun! Until you realize, either she waited 10+ years, or she found and trained another Padawan to full Knighthood who we’ve never seen or heard of before. But, overall, am very glad you liked the novel, it’s so fun to get THR content outside of the initiative!

Whoa! That’s amazing! Congrats, and I hope it keeps going higher.

I personally am looking forward to not being stressed about certain character deaths if this book does confirm the fates of some characters. Please Wayseeker, reduce my anxiety! I’m sure Trials will still be a nail-biting experience regardless.

Oh damn, and forgot to praise the Republic Fair! It draws such strong influences from the World’s Fairs and expositions, of old. Biggest influences are the Columbian Exposition, Chicago World’s Fair, and the 1964 New York World's Fair. Such fascinating stuff.

Oh God, the Fair! I guess that’s more part of The Rising Storm but I still enjoy its impact here too. Love its strong influences from the Worlds Fairs of old.

I enjoyed the intersection with the Adventures comic characters, since it really helped make THR feel interconnected, like they said it would be. While rather goofy, I also liked the Drengir seedlings, I thought their use by the Nihil as a weapon was very intriguing.

Even when it formally ends, we'll still have the stories that released. THR is already ingraining itself into the fabric of SW, and I'm sure storytelling with it won't end. It will be fascinating to see what THR-branded story comes out first post-Initiative!

I think the introduction of Ty is great, and has been a benefit for THR. But, Kitrep Soh and Jom Larin are just ❤️ and I can't express how happy I was to read about their interactions through Kitrep's POV chapters. So happy for them both. Also enjoyed the Kennedy moment with Lina Soh.

I’d like to ask where you’d see room for expansion, since I can’t think of a vector they haven’t covered. The only vague one is toys IMO, we have some for YJA and The Acolyte but a slightly larger selection would be nice. Otherwise, I’m drawing a blank.

Oh, is it a banger? Please feel free to discuss the story since that comic isn’t getting a wide release.

There’s THR merch at Galaxy’s Edge, Survivor has heavy THR lore elements, Hunters has fairly robust THR cosmetics, and we’re sadly getting SW Eclipse at some point in the future. For a project that was meant to be print media (and audio dramas) only when it started, I think that’s all impressive.

We have two teases of projects likely destined for later this year or early next year. I’m personally really excited to see just what Chris Kempshall and Alyssa Wong are cooking up.

Young Jedi Adventures is a lovely show about Jedi Younglings having adventures in a new sector of the galaxy and on more familiar worlds.
The High Republic as a whole has a lot of great Jedi, each with diverse ways of viewing the Force. While some do die, there is always hope across the initiative.

The Worthies were figures of myth and history considered paragons of chivalry in the late Middle Ages. King Arthur was a member and while Stellan is sadly dead in #TheHighRepublic, the Luminous Nine are sure to bear other parallels to the Worthies. I look forward to analysing this element more! 2/2

Oh, and one final idea! We'll get news at the publishing panel about this year's audio drama. We've had one a year pretty reliably, and this year currently doesn't have anything revealed. It might be about Keeve post-Jedi Order, possibly helping wrap up some loose ends with initiative THR finishing.

- At least 1 new novel not previously revealed, and a tease for what is coming post-THR
- 1 of those new novels is something Dr. Chris Kempshall is writing
- The next main animated show as a Hera-focused project, telling us stories of the nascent Rebellion, how Hera got the Ghost, etc.

It will be interesting to see in what way the Conference will influence Andor. We likely already saw it used in the franchise as inspiration for the summit seen during the finale of the second season of The Bad Batch, but Star Wars repeats influences all the time.

There is an interesting point about parallels in history, and the repetition of events. But at the same time, he also cites a very specific event from Nazi Germany, the Wannsee Conference, as an influence on the second season. I really look forward to breaking down this show in the coming weeks! 2/2

I also liked the first story, focusing on Joss and Pikka. It felt like a really nice little mini-chapter of Light of the Jedi, and also now, a kinda scary inverse of what we saw in Fallen Star. I can just imagine the same system the Adrens fixed, was one of those sabotaged by the Nihil operatives.

It’s so strange but I just really gravitated toward Honesty Weft! His total absence from Phase 3 has me at the epitome of “is he safe, is he alright?”

I have to add, they absolutely do have Merlin in THR. But, he was split between two people. The small blurb on the page, in the upper-middle, outlines the character of Azlin Rell pretty closely, but his other, better half, has to be Cohmac Vitus. bsky.app/profile/hist...

It is pretty odd that we've seen so few Zabraks in THR, I can't recall any named Jedi members of that species. Hopefully we get to see some more soon! At least there's a chance of Eeth Koth or Agen Kolar in Jedi Knights.

Runners up are the Force Sirens and the “Force made manifest” though I am hopeful we get the second in Trials of the Jedi when the 9 Worthies go to Planet X. That world is one giant trip, and rich with the Force. If anything like that art exists somewhere in THR, it likely would be on Planet X. 2/2

It really is cool how many of the designs from these 3 images have been used across THR. For me, I have to go with the "Merlin" design shown off in Art of THR Vol 1, no character got even close to it, but the concept and visuals are truly fascinating. Hope it gets reused soon! 1/2
