I’ve been helping my daughter with trig (“helping” doing a lot of work in that sentence). Very frustrating for both of us and I don’t know how to respond to the idea that no matter how many times I explain it, she can’t focus and doesn’t understand.

I think it is, and will continue to be important to manage one’s personal outrage. Pick your battles, save your energy for when it is needed most. Some people will try to cause constant outrage to tire you out or desensitize you. Don’t give them that power.

Over the weekend I decided I am tired of the rat race and will retire. Today I looked at my checking account and yeah, I’ll be clocking in at work tomorrow.
