I needed to hear this voice and these words at this moment. "This chapter will not be written simply by whoever occupies the Oval Office or wealthiest among us. The American story will be written by you, by we the people." Thank you, VP Kamala Harris. #NAACPImageAwards youtu.be/bnmKwxjMKgs?...

Feeling very virtuous and/or smug this morning. Finished off my at-home physio session with a 10 minute joe wicks workout - it's for seniors so quite doable (there's a sitting down version too if you're not very mobile or stable on your feet)

For anyone else out there doing daily physio, those phase 3 exercises hurt but keep up the good work! #BrokenShoulder (Trying to convince myself)

Randy Borman, the man who became Cofán. Randy Borman was never meant to be Cofán. And yet, from the moment he was born in 1955, deep in the Ecuadorian Amazon, he belonged to them. www.butlernature.com/2025/02/19/r...

Trump is a complete tosser, as is Musk. They speak, my eyes roll

(If you have a Kindle, plug it into your computer and copy the DOCUMENTS file to your hard drive. Then relabel that folder. They’re doing away with the ability to back up your legal purchases in >10 days.) (Don’t pirate. But save your stuff.)

Just so you know, I just tweeted this.

If you get the first bill for electricity or gas that was used more than 12 months before you do not have to pay it. Demand your supplier cancels the bill. ignore threats, and remind them backbilling is banned under licence Condition 21BA. If refused go to www.energyombudsman.org

Gave it a go but the super bowl is really boring (sorry American football fans)

A true hero has taken his final flight. ✈️ Lt. Col. Harry Stewart Jr., one of the last surviving Tuskegee Airman, has passed at 100. He broke barriers and defended a country that denied him equality when he returned home. His legacy soars on. Rest in Power, Lt. Col. Stewart.

Missed doing my physio yesterday (day out in London for daughter's birthday) and by the end of the day my arm was a sore piece of dead meat. Lesson learned and back on track this morning. On to phase 3 with weights (i.e. holding a bottle of water up in the air)

Day #3 of BHM: Olive Morris (1952-1979). Olive Morris was a political organizer and community activist born in Jamaica. In 1962, she came to the UK. She fought against injustice, especially racism, sexism, housing segregation, and much more. 1/

www.rspb.org.uk/whats-happen... RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch happening today & tomorrow ❤️. Instructions on that page. Pick an hour. See how many birds land/perch in your garden. Make a note of the biggest number of that sort of bird you saw at one time. Get on that RSPB link. Report what you found.

Can't beat putting your back out while doing your physio exercises

Just heard on BBC News that Largs is east of Glasgow. That’s a hell of a wind.

This is both an incredibly niche thing but I think it should be more of a thing. Caffè Nero subscribes to the British Newspaper Archive so it’s all free on their wifi. There. I said it.

I personally think that this is a far more appropriate name.

All the media and politicians pretending it's not going to be an absolute sh*show under Trump (and his boy wonder Musk) is just weird tbh

Wishing good luck to all of us, particularly decent Americans, over the next four years.

Know this isn't the most youthful of platforms, but do think there's a good spread of ages on here. There's everything from 30 year olds talking about insomnia and backpain, to people in their 60s and 70s talking about insomnia and backpain

Turns out physio exercises for a broken shoulder are feckin sore!

"Why use tax dollars to fund public health research when, in the event of a pandemic, I can just spend millions building myself a hermetically sealed chamber?"

If it fits I sits on #Caturday

Fact-checking is not censorship. Requesting evidence is not censorship. Refuting falsehoods is not censorship. Stopping a lie from travelling halfway round the world before the truth has got its boots on is not censorship. But Zuckerberg's grovelling to Trump will sure as hell lead to censorship.

Nothing to see here... 👀 Just Labour Health Secretary @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social getting cosy with GB news owner, Paul Marshal, + Far-Right politician Nigel Farage (both pro NHS privitisation and rabidly racist). Probs shouldn't repost it. Wouldn't want to embarrass the Health Secretary

Today, with my broken arm, I have made toast. I'm attempting to wash my hair in a bit!
