I think the problem is reversed - those things are indisputably a form of AI, but with the rise of LLMs the popular understanding of AI has been completely distorted (and companies are using that confusion deliberately!)

The response from many of the opposition TD is broadly in the same vein fwiw. Very very concerning that our TDs seem to basically view it as a tiny genie that lives in your computer and grants vague wishes that improve society and the economy
