Honestly, I tried, but it really just feels like a line by line copy of Lavender Axe Legends. Not even in a "This is another Throne Throaters N/E retroclone" way, but in a "I am using synonyms from a thesaurus" way.

I always say my favorite era was "From Bell to Brom" haha. But yeah, my own personal style deeply influenced by Justine Anderson, Wayne Reynolds and the other 3e heavy hitters. That's why my own personal tagline is "Y2k meets B/x"

Also there's artwork by the inimitable @hodagrpg.bsky.social , a clean and well organized layout, a ton of player and GM resources packed into the book, and building your character feels like selecting a loadout in an imsim. It's a really neat game.

For as hard as the wargame origins of D&D baked tactical movement into the genre, I have not seen many ttrpgs that let you schmoove. Footfall absolutely wants you to build weird little movement combos, both in fights and for normal traversal. It makes turns feel deliberate and fresh.

There's gonna be a big rug pull too. We're still in the "first hit is free" stage of this tech, when the venture capital money full dries up and AI fees skyrocket everyone who's become dependent on it now is gonna crash out really hard (and I'm not gonna feel bad for them)

It depends on the project, the specifications and any number of other factors. Fully caffienatee, in my groove that would take 45mutes to an hour.

Oh hey! My "ART MOM"!!! This is Justine Mara Anderson's work (under a no longer used moniker,DC)! She was and is my FAVORITE turn of the Millennium illustrator from TSR/WOTC! Check out her work in "THE HEROBUILDER'S GUIDEBOOK" for 3e. So, so, so good. A MAJOR INFLUENCE ON MY WORK!
