I don't know if it holds up but The Dictator's Handbook got me to start thinking about power in terms of who controls what resources, and I think assessing problems from that angle has helped filter through a lot of bullshit.

It helps that you're liberal now too.

My child has been babbling in the bed for an hour while I try to siphon off whatever dregs of sleep I can, and through my slitted eye I read this and think "Who the fuck is Big Al"

Bathrooms just shouldn't be shared, I don't want to piss or shit next to anybody. And nobody else does either. We all want to go to the bathroom with a soundproof door, a giant deadbolt and a bidet.

I've been enjoying seeing people I follow respond to accounts I've blocked. It's like those water fountains that tell you how many plastic bottles you've saved, except it's assholes I avoided.

Just because a party can't control the ballot line doesn't mean they can't spike someone who tries to run without their endorsement. See India Walton. Controlling the ballot line is only one vector of enforcement power, but access to a party's resources can make a difference.

This happened to my friend a few years ago, absolutely try to get to a specialist ASAP and don't take no for an answer, the longer it's gone the less of it may return.

Where's Tim Walz sitting, does the loss drag him down with Harris or was he low profile enough to escape to run on his own?

Side question, if it's the right time to form a left third party, is it better to throw in with DSA who already has infrustructure or start something like a labor party from scratch?

The real problem long run isn't the non voters, it's the vote blue no matter who lifelong Dems who will vote for a stick with a D next to their name. Getting a non voter to "what the hell sure" try a new party seems easier to me than convincing an MSNBC brained boomer to vote for a new party.

In the same way that all cats are a subtle iteration of The One True Cat, 100% of people wearing diapers at the ball dropping are a version of Randy Quaid from the vacation movies.
