It's not Drew. Just like it's not Emma. Or Kristina. Or BLQ. They're just Frank friends with wholly different personalities carrying a known name. The Emma actor may not be a Frank friend but this sure as heck ain't Emma. The only recast they've gotten right is ShrewLu.

He is the worst. I don't care that he acts better than the former actor. He's a 25 yo with a man's jawline acting all timid to try to get away with playing a 16 year old. It makes me irrationally angry. He plays Aiden small.

Agree. I'm rarely enthralled by a movie anymore but I tell you, I was so gripped by these bishops. Who would've guessed it?

I followed him for a while but had to block him. He tweets/posts all day, and is very gossipy. There are others providing regular "breaking news" without all the attitude.

I long ago made the connection to Trump being a backlash to Obama but hadn't made the connection that all these racial purges and resegregation was so that no black man and no woman would ever rule over white men. Wow.

All while being resentful she's more popular than their fave blonde. Kai ain't a TPTB fave but he's meant to shut the fans up

Trina is getting the Liz treatment. Not a TPTB fave & they'd rather she not be there but the fans would riot, so they give her as little as possible, stick their faves w/her to prop them, make her story all about her guy's pain or heroics, & isolate her to just her guy.

100%. Also, I can't get over a 25 year old with the matching jawline acting like a 16 year old. It's like Granny Molly doing the baby voice. Chuck the actor.

Is this not a situation where your can ask that anyone streaming audio/video needs to wear earbuds? No one wants to hear their coworkers' music choices either.

Sorry, for a minute there I thought for sure you were writing about Sarah Kendzior since literally everything she writes includes "I warned about this X years ago". Great. You want a cookie, Cassandra?

At this point I just assume all the characters I disdain will continue to be forced down my throat unless the actor chooses to leave so yeah, of course Lucky lives. God forbid there ever be stakes on this show.

THIS! Instead of cowering to the right's ever growing extremism, like traditional Dems keep doing, go at them with our own "extreme" policies. Go full throated reparations, trans rights, etc. The right's gonna have a shit fit anyway and never vote for a Dem so stop fearing them & do the right thing

Yes. 100% attribute American hero worship to our movies going back to the very beginning but the last 15 yrs of superhero & marvel crap has created such inertia

I grew up in a culture and faith where Allah pervades everything. People invoke His name 100x a day even in mundane chats. It's a faith & culture that accepts everything to be His will, including death, suffering and horrors. It helps ppl power through. So there isn't an expectation of a human hero
comment in response to

Like even if your journey is awful in this life God/Allah will take care of you in the next. Or it's their will for it to be so. It's your dharma. Or your karma. This doesn't represent all faiths but I think it's very human to need a greater force to believe in to make sense of the pain in the world
comment in response to
post
I keep blaming Hollywood/Disney for making Americans believe a hero will save the day & all will be well but never questioned how that came about. Maybe it's bc of messianic thinking. I think most faiths lull ppl into believing all will be well whether in this life or the next bc of divinity existin

Yep. There's been a lot of air travel for me and my family since the first crash, with one family member flying out of Toronto just the day after this! It's very scary.

I always was skeptical of a gigantic vehicle powered by hydrogen fuel. Seemed like a ticking time bomb. Add to that the scandals of the CEO ...

A few things to call out:
Actor favoritism
Plot driven writing
Misogyny & racism
Lazy writing
Retconning history for adult WTD/M stories
Hollowing out the cast to prop the trio that's killing ratings
Refusing to listen to the fans & writing what you want vs what the audience wants

I couldn't even begin to list it all the only thing I enjoy is reading people's posts on here. I don't watch except occasionally for Liz scenes on YT (unless it's w/Lucky). There's too much great content out there to invest in this slop. i honestly think AI could do better

The literal wealthiest man in the world donating hundreds of millions of dollars to a presidential campaign and getting rewarded with a government post where he can award his companies with contracts is the most cartoonish possible rendering of what people warned about after Citizens United.

Yeah even if people see chemistry the story is total crap. She's half his age & the sister of his first love. Oh yeah and he previously kissed the mother of his first love. Oh and he ditched his own sons yet repeatedly will claim CarSon spawn to help them. He should be beyond this crap by now

I need the true French bidet. A whole separate entity, where you can get in there with soap. The attachments just don't cut it. It has been my lifelong goal to have a bathroom with one.

16 year old Aiden's manly jawline is taking me out. Everyone in #GH leadership needs to lose their job. Everyone. We should sic Musk on that show to clean house.

They're really going there with them, huh? First Carly & Michael, then Sam & Lila. In some ways, Liz & Jake when he thought the baby was Lucky's. A pregnant woman in distress is that man's catnip. Except now he's late middle aged with two grown sons of his own. And this chick is half his age. Lovely

WWII and the Holocaust are sacrosanct bc it impacted white pppl. The only genocide we think of when we say "genocide". We don't even think in terms of Hitler's imperialism. Nothing that impacted black & brown people, even in our own country, gets that kind of historical attention in school or media

What older TV do you still love? For ages I ♥️ I Love Lucy. But I tried rewatching a couple yrs ago & it felt old. I'd say the Golden girls are still enjoyable. I loved Three's Company as a kid. But maybe just the format & humor doesn't do well for too long.

It's definitely not in a peak talent stage right now (there have been waves of great cohorts but we're not in it now) but I still love this show & move that it's been around for so long. Watching the 1st episode, it's amazing to see how much is still the same.

Language barriers are big generally but cultural barriers too. Americans only know America. The American brand is in the toilet globally, so who's wanting to take us? And, immigration policies have tightened up worldwide. We're just not a desirable country or group of people.
comment in response to
post
This is what I keep thinking about when folks talk about leaving. There's a higher chance for well educated folks like scientists & academics to be hired in non Western countries (barring language difficulties) but in general Americans aren't well equipped for international relocation.
comment in response to
post
Also, who's willing to take us? I mention the category of people above bc there may be non Western countries willing to hire them in their labs & universities (language still being an issue though), but immigration policies are strict worldwide.
