DEMOCRATS: this is your example. He’s not scary, he’s not intimidating…he’s an 80 year old, overweight man in makeup and diapers that’s never worked out a day in his life. Go at him with what you know is right!

She said the OLP needs to be "center-right", and she agreed with Ford about selling off the Greenbelt, but disagreed with HOW he was doing it.

Didn't want to Google any of that?

Didn't even do a quick Google search on that one.

We would become a territory without voting power, like Puerto Rico. It wouldn't be a boon to a Democrats. It would be the death of Canadian Sovereignty and nothing more.

It is nice to see our flags and not think "here comes the clownvoy f*** Trudeau crowd again".

I mean... certain minority groups have been targets since before the Nazis were in power the last time. It never really went away.

I saw someone say "I cancelled my Cybertruck order" and was so shocked. Elon accused one of the guys who saved the kids trapped in the cave of being a pedophile before that. For me that was the final straw for him. That was way before he announced the Cybertruck. It's maddening.

We've known who he is for a while now. Years now. I don't get why people are just getting here now.

People would love Canada if it stopped providing a decent standard of living? Yikes.

I have no sympathy for those who lost money here. Don't buy fake internet money from someone who quickly rose to fame because of a meme where they joked about spitting on a dick. Her 15 minutes was up a long time ago.

The lesson democrats learned, incorrectly, was to move right. So when Clinton came about, he focused on balanced budgets, trade agreements, deregulation, small government, etc. Basically, 90s democrats were suddenly ... Republicans. And Republicans were further over. He also abandoned unions.

In particular, it's all about Reagan. See, Reagan wasn't just a bad president; he also represented a huge shift in republican politics. The lesson of Carter's loss should have been that the economy as it impacts the bottom half of the country is critical in an election. But they didn't learn that.

Too busy putting rich consultants, businesses, and their own interests above those of the poor leading to both the conditions in which people can be radicalized, and the apathy required for normal people to not vote I would say is a problem yeah

What actually happened is that liberal parties have protected the interests of billionaires over everyone else and generally paid lip service to progressive values in recent years whilst not providing the transformative and protective legislation required.
comment in response to post
No. The problem is, liberals totally failed to advance the interests of their base. Unchecked wealth inequality, rentierism, wage restraint - all with a pantomime of equality and diversity. You couldn't even codify Roe tbh, and now your reps are complaining they're not being let into buildings 🙄
comment in response to post
Yes liberalism is the problem. Cutting welfare, signing nafta, bailing out banks, leaving government functions up to non-profits, privatized healthcare, interest on student loans, crime bill, bankruptcy bill, austerity, tax cuts for the rich, drone bombing the world. Liberalism leads to fascism.

It's just that the "celebrating diverse values" seems more like symbolic posturing without any practical effort to change laws, systems or lives. Liberalism is patting itself on the back for performative gestures while most people are struggling to get by on a day to day basis.
