I didn't know Jay Stevens, but he wrote an outstanding book. Manages the remarkable trick of being a solid historical account while still letting the feel of the times dictate the shape of the material.

This is not a secret, nor is it one reading of something open to interpretation. It is right out in the open and everyone can see it. It's why we oppose him and why they support him.
