Though having an excuse to take an afternoon nap (after silencing certain beeping appliances), while being piled with pets who want to stay warm isn't the worst thing ever.

It'll probably have AI built-in so that it can self-identify when it is failing, auto-link to your bank account, and be sure to order a new motor and schedule installation for you before it dies. So all you need to do is have money available for them to take.

But if the companies build motors that can last more than 8 years, how will they sell new motors every 8 years to existing clients?
And if they don't add features like a camera, speakers, and microphones, how will they justify to customers that there is value in replacing the motors every 8 years?

The attendants on our flight were quite vigilant against that happening on our trip.

They did, and (based upon a recent trip of mine on United with a dog), they now allow a select number of small dogs/cats in carriers on a flight: if a separate fee is paid, the carrier fits under a seat, and the pet stays in the carrier for the flight. They no longer allow animals in the cargo hold.

For us, the water shutoff is right in the front of the house outside our office. I was in the next room -- the living room -- and it made a notable popping noise, loud enough to scare the cat from that room.
It is just a pinprick, about 3/4 of a gallon a minute spray, so it didn't kill pressure.
