I never knew EA Play was available on Steam until recently, they should definitely add GP.

Valve really needs to start creating games again. Half-life 3, Left 4 Dead 3, Team Fortress 3, Dota 3 etc.
Without making their own content they don't really fit this analogy (unlike Xbox,PS & Nintendo), even if I do personally prefer Steam.

@destinlegarie.bsky.social I think this would make an interesting topic 😉

Tencent also own things like WeChat which is huge!

Ah thanks, yes that would definitely put them in the same boat!
Tencent own some of the biggest games in the world, so they definitely have access to lots of US citizen data.

TBH I wouldn't be surprised if they went after Tencent next (due to WeChat too) however did the US government already mention them (as you mention above that it's there next target).

Based on TGA's history it will probably be a unnecessary Playstation remake and Riot games announcing some form of partnership as an advert.

Thanks, I'm the same but do have more than usual at the moment (Netflix, Disney & Apple!), I might have to cancel one tonight 😉.
It will be interesting to see where it all goes, I think PC will eventually adapt to provide a more console like experience. The Steam Deck UI is fantastic for example.

Hopefully so, however I guess what I'm getting as is if Disney+(Xbox) continues to put all their exclusive content on Netflix (Sony), would any customer realistically still subscribe and use both apps?
IMO within the next ten years the consoles will be gone and it will just be apps on our TV's.

I think you've summed it up really well here, I feel exactly the same.
I do have concerns that this approach may eventually impact point A & B if there is less incentive for customers to invest in Xbox.
When we get to the future of a Xbox and PS app on our TV's which will customers subscribe to?

Oh I agree internally it must have always been designed that way, however the way it's been marketed to customers (and even the FTC leak) did not suggest this until Gamescom.

Was it though? Everything up until Gamescom suggested it was exclusive, then Geoff Keighley announced it was coming to PS at Gamescom opening night.

I think there's two angles here, personally I don't care as I'm on PC.
From the view of a Xbox fan I don't see how this exclusive-less approach helps them long-term.
When they go fully cloud you only need to look at services like Netflix/Disney which attract customers with their exclusives.

Why "Based" and not just "Parody"? Based doesn't make any sense to me.

From my experience even if you've figured out the twist early on, you'll still be excited to watch season 2 😉.
